Flamengo is a neighborhood in the south of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Its main reference is Praia do Flamengo. Its limits are the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Laranjeiras, Catete and Glória. It is, eminently, residential of middle class and upper middle class. Avenida Rui Barbosa, in the neighborhood, was once one of the noblest addresses in the city of Rio de Janeiro, but with the development of neighborhoods like Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon in the 20th century, the neighborhood has lost some of its status.

Its main streets are: Senador Vergueiro, Paissandu, Marquês de Abrantes, Flamengo Beach and Avenida Infante Dom Henrique. Flamengo Beach, São Salvador Square, Oi Futuro Cultural Center, Arte Sesc Cultural Center, Julieta de Serpa House of Art and Culture, Castelinho do Flamengo (which houses the Oduvaldo Viana Filho Cultural Center) and the Park Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes are some points of interest that are located in the neighborhood and its surroundings.

Consulates of Japan, Mexico, Peru, the United Kingdom, Chile, Bolivia and Iceland are located in the neighborhood.

According to the most widespread version, the name Flamengo, which also originated the name of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, one of the largest football clubs in Brazil, is a reference to the Dutch navigator Olivier van Noort, who tried to invade the city in the 16th century. from Flamengo Beach. Dutch people were historically referred to as Flemish, as they came from Flanders.

In addition to this, there are other possible origins for the name Flamengo, which the historian Brasil Gérson alludes to in his work History of the Streets of Rio. One of them refers to the time of the Dutch invasions of Brazil. The name would have its origin in the denomination of prisoners also known as Flemish, who lived in the region during the 17th century, brought from Pernambuco and transferred to the region.

The second is related to the presence of many flamingos brought to Brazil from regions bathed by the Mediterranean. There would be so many that a German officer from the foreign battalions of the First Kingdom, Carl Schlichthorst, wrote, in his memoir "Rio de Janeiro as it is, once and never again":

"... and flamingos fly by with the splendor of their bright colors and variegated butterflies of a size never seen before ..."

A third possible origin is that the neighborhood, previously known by several other names, such as Aguada dos Marinheiros, was renamed Flamengo because of Portuguese owners of local lots from the Portuguese parish of Flamengos, located in the municipality of Horta, on Ilha do Faial, Autonomous Region of the Azores. It is also possible that such owners were devoted to N. Sra. Da Luz from the Flemish Valley.

Icaraí is an upscale neighborhood in the municipality of Niterói, in Rio de Janeiro.
Bathed by the Guanabara Bay, it is located in the South Zone of the municipality. It is on the opposite bank to the beaches of Flamengo and Botafogo, on the edge of Rio de Janeiro.

Privileged with a rich trade and services, covering a wide variety of restaurants, bars, shopping malls, bakeries, hotels, hostels, clinics, offices, hospitals, schools and service providers from the most varied areas of activity.

The neighborhood trade is one of the most varied, highlighting the presence of the most important brands of fashion products, located mainly along the old street Coronel Moreira César that now changes its name to Rua Paulo Gustavo, in honor of the comedian who passed away due to Covid's complications. To Gavião Peixoto and others as Presidente Backer, Lopes Trovão and Rua Doutor Tavares de Macedo.

For all these factors, the neighborhood is one of the most valued in the city of Rio de Janeiro, with a dynamic and highly liquid real estate market, being an excellent option for those looking for housing or investment in real estate.

"Icaraí" derives from the Tupi term Carahy which means "water from Peixe Acará" or "Rio de Peixe Acará". The neighborhood gets its name because it is crossed by the Icaraí River, now polluted, channeled and covered for the most part of its length.

Amazing sunset while walking along the Ipanema Boardwalk on June 16th holiday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Ipanema beach is the favorite of young cariocas.
It is 2.6 km long and extends from Arpoador to Leblon beach, which is a complement.
Ipanema inspired composer Vinícius de Moraes when he released the song Garota de Ipanema, for which Tom Jobim was responsible for the melody.
Among the favorite activities are surfing, skiboarding, racquetball, volleyball, football, footvolley.
Posto Nove is considered one of the best spots on Rio's beach, frequented by celebrities and young people.
Posto Eight is Rio's largest LGBT stronghold on the beach.

Enjoy and learn a little about human behavior and the culture of Brazilian tropical beaches in summer. The "carioca way". Authentically, without interference, with high quality sounds.

A great free music festival – the first after the relaxation of restrictive measures against Covid, on Copacabana Beach.

For two weekends in a row, great names in Brazilian music, such as Seu Jorge, Criolo, Iza and Xamã, in addition to DJs, will liven up on the sands at Tim Music Rio.

The attractions performed on the stage set up near Posto 4.

Leblon is the most upscale neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro and perhaps in Brazil. Possess the most expensive square meter value in the country, both for purchase and rental of property.
Avenida Ataulfo de Paiva is one of the main roads in the neighborhood. This is the main route of trade.
The notorious life of the neighborhood is bustling on the stretch that is called Baixo Leblon, which is between Avenida Ataulfo de Paiva and Rua Dias Ferreira.
On this night tour, I start at Rua Dias Ferreira to show the movement of the bars.

I watched the soccer game Internacional x Melgar in dispute to advance to the semifinals of the Copa Sudamericana 2022. At Estádio Beira Rio in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

In an exciting match where the Colorados fans, from Inter, had a great party and packed, Melgar managed to resist the pressure of the home team and held a goalless draw in the regulation time of 90 minutes. Thus, the match had to be defined in penalty kicks. In this dispute, Melgar was the winner after converting 3 penalties and Inter only 1. Score: Inter 1 x 3 Melgar, on penalties.

From Leblon streets neighborhood to Leblon beach, in Rio de Janeiro.
This walk is to show the atmosphere of the neighborhood, as it is a walk from a shopping street to the beach. Everything is very close.
Close to Rua Dias Ferreira and Av. Ataulfo de Paiva is one of the busiest spots in Leblon. Due to the concentration of popular bars.

This Saturday was the first weekend with measures to restrict the mildest pandemic. The city is going through a second wave of pandemic and many things do not work normally. But this weekend, although it is still forbidden to remain on the beach and sit on it with chairs, the bars and restaurants were able to open after more than 14 closed days.

So I show the movement of commerce this Saturday of loosening restrictions and walking on the Leblon Beach boardwalk near sunset time.

The best carnival beach party in the world is in Rio de Janeiro, on Leblon beach. I don't need to write much to explain this, you can see it in the video. Not even on a day when the sun wasn't so present did people crowd the beach to celebrate the carnival party in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Street blocks are still not allowed due to covid restriction, but you know, people go out of their way for a little revelry.

One of the most beautiful leisure areas that Londoners and other people who pass through Londrina, in the State of Pananá in Brazil, can enjoy is Lake Igapó, whose name, in the Tupi language, means overflowing rivers.

The lake was designed in 1957 as a solution to the problem of the drainage of the Cambezinho stream, which was hampered by a natural stone dam.

The Igapó was inaugurated on December 10, 1959, the day of Londrina's Silver Jubilee, together with the sanitation station. After a period of some abandonment, a project to revitalize the lake was prepared.

The Zerão (Luigi Borgesi Leisure Area) and the Urban Social Center were built. The project, by Burle Marx, included a garden with 187 species of native plants.

It is a place of leisure, which in addition to the dam, provides the practice of water sports. It has a vast urbanized area with swimming pools, model airplane tracks and a photo club.

In 1996, the lake was emptied, cleaned and its banks were revitalized, gaining the bike path, Teatro do Lago, gardens and fountain.

Rua Barata Ribeiro is one of the main roads in Copacabana. With a lot of commerce, it has a large flow of vehicles and people.
The street was named after pediatric doctor Cândido Barata Ribeiro (1843-1910), an abolitionist who began to exercise the positions of minister of the Supreme Federal Court in 1893 and senator for the then Federal District in 1897

Rua Oscar Freire is considered one of the main shopping addresses for street stores in the city of São Paulo. I walked from Av Paulista, taking the subway to Rua Oscar Freire.

Oscar Freire Street is rated as one of the most expensive square meters in Latin America, and recognized for being one of the most elegant and valued shopping spots in the city of São Paulo. Usually these stores make a concept space, that is, a store different from those they have in other neighborhoods and cities. In 2008, it was elected by Excellence Mystery Shopping survey as the 8th most luxurious region in the world. It reached its peak between 2004 and 2006. Altogether, there are 110 stores associated with the Garden Shopkeepers Association (ALOJ). Despite being long (2600 meters), it gathers, in a few blocks, in the vicinity between the intersection with Rua Augusta, some of the most famous and expensive brands operating in the country in the fashion and accessories sector, such as Shoulder, Le Lis Blanc , Tommy Hilfiger, Forum, Osklen, Camper, H. Stern, Ellus, Animale, Canal, Rosa Chá, Spezzato, Track & Field, Montblanc, Pandora, among others.

It is the fourth most luxurious street on the American continent after Fifth Avenue, in New York, and Avenida Presidente Masaryk and Rua Madero, both located in Mexico City. In the transversal and parallel streets to Oscar Freire, such as Haddock Lobo, Bela Cintra, Melo Alves and Alameda Lorena, important international boutiques were found, such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bulgari and Cartier, which closed their stores ports in the region. However, international brands Roberto Cavalli and Versace still have stores in operation.

Oscar Freire and its adjacent streets are also home to a number of restaurants and bars, including Fasano, Piselli, Antiquarius, Almanara, Chez Oscar, Italy, Serafina, PJ Clarke's and recently opened a franchise of Burger Joint, New York, owned by actor Bruno Gagliasso, and sweet shops, including Ici Brasserie, Gero, Rodeio, A Bela Sintra, Baccio di Latte and Ben & Jerrys ice cream parlors, Dulca, Kopenhagen, Cristallo and recently Carlo's Bakery. The streets also feature graffiti artwork by renowned artist Kobra.

Furthermore, the street is considered to be a place where many celebrities can usually be seen shopping in the luxury stores.

Campos do Jordão, the Brazilian Switzerland, is one of the main winter tourist destinations in Brazil. Belonging to the State of São Paulo, Campos do Jordão is the highest municipality in the country, at 1,628 meters of altitude.

Called the Switzerland Brazilian, as a marketing strategy, due to its architecture based on European constructions and its colder climate than the national average. Therefore, the city receives a greater number of tourists, both national and international, during the winter season, especially in July.

The city is full of tourist attractions and very sophisticated hotels. Its best known point, a place of great movement, is Villa Capivari, where there are several options of bars and the rest of the most varied.
Nearby, Capivari Park has ice skating, a Ferris wheel, pedal boat, cable car that takes you to Elephant Mountain.
Other attractions are: Baden Baden Brewery - where you can take a tour, Amantikir Park, Felícia Leirner Museum, Tarundu, Horto Florestal, Pico do Itapeva, Silver Douche, quad bike ride among many other attractions.

Arpoador is a beach and a rock formation, both located in the neighborhood of Ipanema, in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
It is located between the beaches of Diabo and Ipanema. It has restricted space, as it is a small beach, about 500 meters long. Arpoador beach is known as the surfers' beach, as it has many large waves, suitable for the practice of this sport.

It is also very common and an attraction to watch the sunset at Pedra do Arpoador, a spectacular piece entitled to a round of applause.

The name of the place comes from the fact that, in the past, it was possible to harpoon whales at Pedra do Arpoador. Thus, historians attribute the origin of the name "Arpoador". The fact that, in the colonial period, the place was used by fishermen (arpoadores - harpooners in English) for observation and later fishing of whales that approached the place with harpoons. Others claim that the name Arpoador came from aerial observation of Pedra do Arpoador, which suggests for some the visualization of a person holding an object similar to a harpoon.

Also at Praia do Arpoador it was where for the first time in Brazil a woman was seen in a bikini. The German, living in Brazil, model and stylist Miriam Etz in 1948 debuted the costume. Since then the bikini is almost a trademark of Brazilian women.

At Posto 9, on this day, there was a gay party taking place on the sand of Ipanema beach. The party took place at Faro Beach Club.
This party was highly criticized, as the city is experiencing a high rate of contamination, hospitalizations and deaths from the coronavirus pandemic.
The regulars were crowded by the hundreds, without masks. The party had to be closed off by the Military Police, Fire Department and city inspectors.
On the same day in the city, 224 more deaths and 2,114 new cases were recorded. In total, Rio de Janeiro accumulates 5,303 deaths and 428,373 cases.

Ipanema beach is the favorite of the young carioca. Unlike what tourists think, Copacabana beach is not the main beach for the carioca. It is actually Ipanema.
It is 2.6 km long and extends to Leblon beach, which is a complement.
Ipanema inspired the composer Vinícius de Moraes when he released the song Garota de Ipanema, of which Tom Jobim was responsible for the melody.
Among the favorite activities are surfing skiboard, frescobol, volleyball, soccer, footvolley.
Posto Nove is considered one of the best spots on Rio's beach, frequented by celebrities and young people.
Posto Eight is Rio's largest LGBT stronghold on the beach.

Visconde de Pirajá street is the main street in the Ipanema neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro. It cuts across the neighborhood and connects with the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Leblon.

There is the main commercial route of Ipanema, it has stores of the main fashion brands, both for clothes, furniture, jewelers, supermarkets, etc.

On the day of this night walk, there was an event at Ipanema Beach, at Rua Farme de Amoedo.
So, at the intersection of Rua Farme de Amoedo, you can see a greater movement of people.
This street is very frequented by the gay public and has become a meeting point for homosexual supporters.
The large number of people that this event had generated controversy, since the city and the country were going through the second wave of coronavirus contamination. Measures such as keeping the distance, avoiding crowds and mandatory use of a mask were ignored, which is the reason for the controversy at the event.

Walking along Av Paulista, through Rua Augusta to Praça Roosevelt.

Rua Augusta is an important arterial road in the city of São Paulo, connecting Jardins to the city center.

From its beginning at Rua Martins Fontes with Martinho Prado and Praça Franklin Roosevelt to the intersection with Avenida Paulista, it is an uphill climb, and from this point it begins to descend until it ends at Rua Colombia, which is nothing more than a continuation of the street. via, with another name.

Currently, the stretch that goes from its beginning to the intersection with Av. Paulista, which is located in the Central Region of São Paulo, has the presence of nightclubs, saunas and concert halls, being one of the red light spots in the city.

The rest of its extension is taken up by banks, high-end stores and boutiques, theaters, luxury restaurants and cinemas, having an aspect eventually considered more noble, sophisticated and even an open-air shopping mall. The lanes stand out: Alameda Santos, Rua Oscar Freire and Estados Unidos.

Franklin Roosevelt Square, built in the 60s, between Consolação and Augusta streets, named after the American president, is one of the main leisure areas in the center of the city of São Paulo.

After a recent renovation, Praça Roosevelt reopened in October 2012 with a space completely restructured and revitalized to the public.

With 200 trees, the place gained new environments with ecological floors, covered with flowers of different colors, special lighting and even a "cachordromo", a green area dedicated to pets, which even has a drinking fountain for pets.

Two security booths were also built, one for the Military Police and the other for the Civil Guard, allowing for a quiet walk at any time.

The square is frequented by a diverse audience, but especially after the revitalization it became a stronghold for skaters because it has a smooth floor, ideal for maneuvers and handrails as obstacles.

Located in a region full of cultural and gastronomic attractions, in the surroundings of Roosevelt there are several theater houses and bars that offer a special program at night.

Opened in 1997 as Studio 184 and today called Teatro Studio Helena Guariba, in honor of the theater director and teacher who was tortured and killed during the dictatorship, it is the oldest operating site to occupy the square. It is open daily, from 11 am to 11 pm, and presents traditional theater plays on weekends.

Companhia Satyros de Teatro has been performing on stages in Brazil and Europe since mid-1989, but only after 2001 did the group arrive at Praça Roosevelt opening two spaces (Espaço Satyros 1 and 2), with a special scenic program, in addition to workshops of interpretation.

Espaço 1 has a café at the entrance, which is open from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am, arriving until 2:00 am on weekends, and the theater, with capacity for 60 people, which has a schedule that varies from Wednesday to Sunday. Space 2 is currently closed for renovations, with no date set for reopening.

Espaço Parlapatões was founded in 2006 by the theater group Parlapatões, one of the biggest names in circus spectacle, and currently houses several plays that relate music, circus, comedy and street theater. The house has a café-bar, a stage for presentations and a room with capacity for around one hundred people.

There are also several other meeting points that concentrate theater stages with food places, such as the Miniteatro, Teatro do Ator and Teatro Cultura Artística near Roosevelt. Check out more information about the homes in the service below.

The square will also be one of the first places to receive free Wi-Fi zones across the city through a project by the City of São Paulo. The expectation is that the network will be installed by the end of 2013, which will allow connection from 512 Kbps, 24 hours a day.

Liberdade is a tourist district located in the central area of the city of São Paulo, part of the district of Liberdade and part of the district of Sé. It is known as the largest stronghold of the Japanese community in the city, which is considered the largest community in the world. outside of Japan.

The Japanese presence in the neighborhood began when, in 1912, Japanese immigrants began to live on Conde de Sarzedas Street, a steep slope, where, in the lower part, there was a stream and a floodplain area.

One of the reasons they looked for this street was that almost every property had basements, and the rents for the basement rooms were incredibly cheap. In these rooms, only groups of people lived. For those immigrants, that corner of the city of São Paulo meant hope for better days. As it is a central neighborhood, from there they could easily get around to work.

Already at that time, commercial activities began to emerge: an inn, an emporium, a house that made tofu (soy cheese), another that made manju (Japanese sweet) and also employment agency firms, thus forming the "street of the Japanese".

In 1915, Taisho Shogakko (Taisho Primary School) was founded, which helped in the education of the children of Japanese people, then approximately 300 people.

In 1932, there were about 2,000 Japanese in the city of São Paulo. They came directly from Japan and also from the interior of São Paulo, after terminating their labor contract in the fields. Everyone came looking for an opportunity in the city. About 600 Japanese lived on Conde de Sarzedas Street. Others lived on the streets Irmã Simpliciana, Tabatinguera, Conde do Pinhal, Conselheiro Furtado, dos Estudantes and Tomás de Lima (today Mituto Mizumoto), where, in 1914, Hotel Ueji was founded, pioneer of Japanese hotels in São Paulo.

On October 12, 1946, the São Paulo Shimbun newspaper was founded, the first post-war among the Nikkei. On January 1, 1947, it was the turn of Jornal Paulista. In the same year, Livraria Sol (Taiyodo) was inaugurated, still present in the Liberdade neighborhood, which starts importing Japanese books across the United States. The Tunibra travel agency starts its activities in the same year. An orchestra formed by professor Masahiko Maruyama performs the first post-war concert in March 1947, in the auditorium of the Centro do Professorado Paulista, on Avenida Liberdade.

On July 23, 1953, Yoshikazu Tanaka inaugurated, on Galvão Bueno Street, a 5-storey building with a lounge, restaurant, hotel and a large screening room on the ground floor for 1,500 spectators, named Cine Niterói. Different films produced in Japan were shown weekly for the entertainment of Japanese people in São Paulo. Galvão Bueno street becomes the center of the Japanese district, growing around Cine Niterói, having received part of the merchants expelled from Conde de Sarzedas street. It was there that the Japanese could find a little corner of Japan and miss their homeland. In its heyday, the cines Niterói, Nippon (on Santa Luzia street – current headquarters of the Aichi Kenjin kai Association), Joia (on Carlos Gomes square – today a concert hall[5]) and Tokyo (São street) operated in the region. Joaquim – also church).

In April 1964, the building of the Japanese Cultural Association of São Paulo (Bunkyô) was inaugurated on the corner of São Joaquim and Galvão Bueno streets.

I walked in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, from Avenida Brasil to the beach.

Avenida Brasil is the main street inside Praia Central, I crossed Avenida Central and got to Praia Central, where I walked a little along the boardwalk. So I removed my shoes and walked on the Central Beach of Balneário Camboriú. This was a few days before the work on widening the sand strip started to receive new sand.

So this is another important and high-quality historical record of how Balneário Camboriú's Central Beach was before the expansion works. Perhaps posterity does not imagine what this beach was like before the work, but with this record, generations will be able to follow.

Pão de Açúcar, in Urca, is one of the main tourist spots in Rio de Janeiro and always makes a strong allusion to Brazil.

I chose this square in front of the embarkation for the Sugarloaf cable car to start a new series of urban photography on the canal.

In this series that begins, I walked with a camera in my hand, with a 70-200mm lens and photographed what can be an interesting photo on the streets. I will also try different types of lenses.

I intend to be able to offer some formats of these photos to the supporting members of the channel. And also provide high resolution formats that can be used to make (frames) wall pictures. This will be structured!

If you are interested in these photographs you can contact me through Instagram @vortc.channel.

In this same instagram I expose these photos, FOLLOW US there!

Caxias do Sul is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. It is located in the northeast of the state at an altitude of 817 meters above sea level, being the most important city in the Serra Gaúcha; the second most populous city in Rio Grande do Sul, surpassed only by the capital Porto Alegre; and the 47th largest Brazilian city.

Throughout its history, Caxias has been known as Campo dos Bugres (until 1877), Colônia de Caxias (1877-1884) and Santa Teresa de Caxias (1884-1890). The city was built where the Plateau of Vacaria begins to break up into several valleys, furrowed by small watercourses, with the result of having a very rugged topography in its southern part. The area was inhabited by Caigangue Indians since time immemorial, but they were violently displaced by the so-called "bugreiros" making room, at the end of the 19th century, for the government of the Brazilian Empire to decide to colonize the region with a European population. Thus, thousands of immigrants, mostly Italians from the Veneto region, but with some members from other origins such as Germans, French, Spaniards and Poles, crossed the sea and climbed the Serra Gaucha, opening up an area that is still almost entirely virgin.

Before the arrival of Italian immigrants in the 19th century, the region was inhabited by Caingangues Indians. Hence, its old name: Campo dos Bugres. There, muleteers also passed on their journeys between the south of the state and the center of the country. In the region, the Jesuits tried to found some reductions, although without success.

In the second half of the 19th century, due to the Italian war of unification, that European country was in a serious social and economic crisis, and impoverished farmers were no longer able to guarantee their livelihood. At this time, the imperial government of Brazil decided to undertake the colonization of uninhabited areas in the south of the country, encouraging the arrival of immigrants from Italy, after the success of a similar initiative with the Germanic element. The chosen area was then known as Fundos de Nova Palmira, a region formed by unoccupied lands, delimited by Campos de Cima da Serra, to the north, and by the region of valleys, to the south, of German colonization.

The city's primitive urban core around 1886
In 1875, the first settlers arrived, mostly from the Veneto region, after facing the arduous crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, which lasted about a month, in overcrowded ships and where deaths from disease and poor general conditions were common. Initially, immigrants arrived in Rio de Janeiro, where they remained in quarantine at the Casa dos Imigrantes. They boarded a steamer to the south, arriving in Porto Alegre, where they were sent to the former Porto Guimarães, today the municipality of São Sebastião do Caí. Then, they went up the mountain, crossing the still practically wild region, until they reached their destination: the area where, today, Nova Milano is. From there, in 1876, they moved to the so-called Headquarters Dante, site of the future Caxias do Sul, the administrative center of the colony, the first to be demarcated in the region, where they were received in a wooden shed - hence the epithet Barracão too attributed to the small colonial headquarters. Afterwards, they were distributed in rural lots assigned to them by the government. A year later, there were already about 2,000 settlers at the site. On April 11, 1877, the official name of the place became Colônia Caxias, in honor of the Duque de Caxias.

The nightlife in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro is one of the busiest in the city on weekends.
Every weekend, young people look for Botafogo bars on Voluntários da Pátria and Nelson Mandela streets to socialize and usually fill the bars. The place even got a name: Baixo Botafogo.

During the pandemic period, the bars are not so crowded, but it still has a high number of people, as can be seen in the video.
The bars start to get busier after 10pm and many only leave when the bars need to close their doors.

If you are a tourist in Rio de Janeiro, you need to book a weekend night to have a drink in the bars of Botafogo.

Leblon Beach Boardwalk in Rio de Janeiro on a sunny summer Sunday. A walk with the car track closed for the leisure of the population. We sat at the table at the "La Carioca" kiosk to enjoy delicious fish by the sea, admiring the high spirits of Rio and an incredible view of Morro Dois Irmãos, classic postcard of the beaches of Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon.

Carnival party at Leblon Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Even without the traditional carnival blocks and parade of the samba schools, the carnival period has not gone completely blank for the Cariocas. They filled a stretch of Leblon Beach to celebrate.

Many beautiful, cheerful young people in a fun atmosphere. This is the middle and upper class in Rio de Janeiro that does not usually go to the traditional Copacabana Beach, as many tourists imagine it to be.

Copacabana Beach is mostly frequented by the lower middle class or lower class population, of course, with exceptions to the rule.

Enjoy this video to learn a little about the behavior and joy of the carioca.

Praia do Flamengo is located in the Flamengo neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. Receiving the waters of Guanabara Bay, the beach has an exuberant landscape, facing one of the most well-known postcards in Brazil and in the world, the Pão de Açucar.

The beach is quiet, usually without waves, which would be an invitation for those who like a peaceful bath without worrying about currents created by big waves. But unfortunately, the waters of this beach usually remain unsuitable for bathing, as Guanabara Bay receives tons of sewage every day, a sad reality in Rio that does not seem to have a solution. Cleaning the bay is technically possible, but the lack of political will makes the reversal scenario practically impossible.

Well, but the beach can be a beautiful setting for a daily walk or during the weekend.

Every Sunday the car tracks at Aterro do Flamengo are closed for recreational use by the population, which increases the number of people strolling along the beach in family, with children, strolling by bicycle or even for a picnic under the remains of a beautiful tree. .

The Aterro do Flamengo park is immense, well wooded and beautiful.

The entire Aterro do Flamengo region, as the name suggests, is part of the grounding area that was created to expand the built area of the city and which houses important highways for the circulation of car traffic.

Leblon and Ipanema are two neighborhoods connected by the same extension of beach, mixing in their streets. Avenida Ataulfo de Paiva (Leblon) and Rua Visconde de Pirajá (Ipanema) are actually the same length of road, but they change their names where the neighborhoods intersect, in the Jardim de Alah canal. These streets are the commercial heart of the two neighborhoods, as they concentrate a luxury trade.

Leblon is the neighborhood with the highest square meter value in Brazil, and reaches its peak in properties facing the sea.

Shops and boutiques like Osklen and Farm have their origins linked to neighborhoods. The headquarters of major jewelry stores such as Amsterdam Sauer and H. Stern are also located in Ipanema. Major international brands such as Mont Blanc and Louis Vuitton also chose stores in the neighborhood. These stores are concentrated in the streets Garcia D'Avila and Visconde de Pirajá (mainly in the Forum Forum of Ipanema) and Maria Quitéria.

The neighborhoods still have some of the best and most traditional bars and restaurants in Rio de Janeiro.

Ipanema is among the main tourist spots in the city of Rio de Janeiro, both for Brazilian and international tourists.

Recently, several hostels have been installed in the neighborhoods, which has considerably increased the number of young people from all over the world, on the streets.

Baixo Gávea is a traditional nightlife spot in Rio de Janeiro. Tonight the crowd of Flamengo, soccer club, filled the spot to watch the title of Brazilian soccer champion won by the club Flamengo de Futebol e Regatas. A climate of tension dominated the venue until the end of the match, when the club was crowned champion and the crowd was finally able to celebrate.

Baixo Gávea, also called by Cariocas "BG" (initials of Baixo Gávea), is located around Praça Santos Dumont and enters Rua dos Oitis, in the Gávea neighborhood. It has great gastronomic and ethylic options making the bohemian carioca fill the street.
BG is an excellent tourist option for visitors to the city, with an atmosphere of relaxation and hype where you can see a lot of beautiful people.

Traditionally Thursday nights are usually the busiest days, but the place also brings movement on weekends and on days and hours of soccer matches in Rio clubs (Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco), especially Flamengo, which has a sports headquarters in the neighborhood.
"Baixo" (from Baixo Gávea), in the Carioca dictionary, is the region of a neighborhood where there is a great concentration of bars, where people flock to drink beer, whether at the bar counter, at the restaurant table or in the middle of the street, to see and be seen.

Blumenau is a city in the Southern Region of Brazil. It is the third most populous municipality in the State of Santa Catarina, the 8th in the Southern Region of Brazil, and one of the main industrial, technological and university centers in the State.

It was founded by the German chemist and pharmacist Hermann Bruno Otto Blumenau, who arrived in a boat via the Itajaí-Açu river accompanied by seventeen other compatriot settlers. This landed at the mouth of the Garcia stream on September 2, 1850 and divided the land into lots so that the settlers could build their homes, mostly houses made with the half-timbered technique. The gap between the mouths of the Velha and Garcia streams defined the current city center.

It has a cultural agenda focused on parties based on the daily life and habits of European immigrants, highlighting the German colonization, with Oktoberfest, the second largest beer party in the world, which, every year in October, takes place for 17 days, and the Stammtisch, a traditional meeting of associations, which takes place both on Rua XV de Novembro, in the center of the municipality, and in Vila Itoupava. The Italian core of the population holds the Festitália, in addition to meetings of the Centro de Tradições Gaúchas (CTG) and several other manifestations of European and Brazilian cultures.

EUROPEAN COLONIZATION

The history of Blumenau is the result of the arrival of German immigrants who settled in fertile lands of the Atlantic Forest and built the São Paulo de Blumenau colony. It was founded by pharmaceutical chemist Hermann Blumenau, after whom the city was named. Having an interest in the problems faced by European immigrants, in 1845 he reached an agreement with the Society for the Protection of German Emigrants to represent it via proxy and headed to Brazil, with the aim of installing new colonies and, at the same time, verifying the situation of those that already existed. He traveled to Rio Grande do Sul, and then to Santa Catarina, where he visited the German colony of São Pedro de Alcântara. Aware of comments about the Itajaí valley, he explored it in detail, associating it with his compatriot Ferdinand Hackradt, since the aforementioned society was dissolved.

They crossed the Itajaí-Açu river upstream aboard canoes, led by the Brazilian Ângelo Dias. After traveling for three days, they reached the mouth of the Garcia and Velha streams in 1849. It was the region whose colonization was decisive for the initial settlement of the municipality. He obtained from the president of the Province of Santa Catarina a donation of two cubic leagues, from the Garcia stream, building a mill and other shacks. After taking certain precautions, he headed for Germany to look for settlers. And on September 2, 1850, Hermann Blumenau returned to the chosen zone with the initial seventeen immigrants. At that moment, the partnership formed between H. Blumenau and Hackradt had already been dissolved. Thus, Blumenau began to be populated. Most of the original immigrants come from small German villages such as Pahnstangen in Thuringia. Notable immigrants arrived, such as the biologist, who collaborated with Charles Darwin's ideas, Doctor Johann Müller. However, the obstacles were great and Hermann Blumenau requested the help of the imperial government. Pedro II of Brazil acquired the colony for payment in contos de réis and appointed Blumenau as its director in 1860.

Despite the floods, clashes with wild animals and even with the indigenous people, thanks to the German immigrants willing to enter continuously in greater numbers, the colony prospered, but not without conflicts with the original inhabitants of the region. Blumenau was inhabited by the Xoclengues Indians, who had their lands invaded by immigrants, giving rise to several conflicts, from which the Indians were the losers. For a number of years there was only one means of transport: the Itajaí River, where canoes and smaller ships sailed.

Blumenau also received many Italian immigrants, which led to conflicts between them and the German settlers. The Italians were almost all Catholics, while many of the Germans in Blumenau were Lutherans. Furthermore, the Italians were settled in peripheral and mountainous lots, while the Germans occupied the flat lands near the center of the colony.

The XV de Novembro St. is one of the most important streets in Curitiba, the capital, state of Paraná. It is also known as Rua das Flores in its touristic section, between Avenida Luiz Xavier and Rua Presidente Faria, whose pavement is exclusively made of petit-pavè, making it the first large public thoroughfare exclusively for pedestrians in Brazil.

The street starts in the city center and after the end of the "calçadão", on the corner with Rua Presidente Faria, the street maintains its space for cars, extending to the neighborhood of Alto da XV.

In its touristic stretch, it is characterized by centenary buildings and townhouses, with bars, shops and restaurants and flower beds in all its extension. One of its most notable buildings is Palácio Avenida.

Rua XV de Novembro is a heritage listed as a landscape by state law in Paraná since 1974.

Rua XV de Novembro is a clear denomination of the republican spirit that swept the monarchy at the end of the 19th century, as this street had been called Rua Imperatriz, since 1880, when the then provincial capital received a visit from the sovereigns. Between 1850 and 1880, it was called Rua das Flores, a nickname still used today for the stretch that became a sidewalk in the early 1970s.

On May 20, 1972, part of the street was closed to the circulation of cars, making it exclusively for pedestrians.

Copacabana is the most famous neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. We can say that.

In this walking video I walked through some of the busiest streets in the neighborhood to Copacabana beach. To show how the day-to-day trade is, residents, neighborhood goers and the distance, how it is to walk to the beach.
I took a little more turns to show the neighborhood than the normal way to the beach. But you can get a sense of the reality of Copacabana.

I started at the Siqueira Campos subway station, went to Rua Figueiredo de Magalhães, crossed to Rua Siqueira Campos inside the Shopping Cidade de Copacabana gallery. From Siqueira Campos, I walked to the intersection of Rua Barata Ribeiro and walked along it. I turned again at Rua Figueiredo de Magalhães until I reach Copacabana Beach, crossing Av. Nossa Senhora de Copacabana. From the beach I went untill the Copacabana Palace where I finished the walk.

Gramado is a city marked by many beauties, possessing exuberant natural wealth, being the largest tourist hub in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and one of the most important in Brazil.

The city stands out as a center of major events, in addition to hosting one of the most traditional film festivals in Latin America every year: the Brazilian and Latin Film Festival, popularly called the Gramado Film Festival or just Gramado Festival, during which Kikito prizes are distributed. Other important events that attract thousands of tourists are the Christmas festival known as Natal Luz and the Festa da Colônia, one of the most integrated festivities of the groups that colonized the region: Azoreans, Germans and Italians. For the Christmas event, between 1 and 1.5 million tourists are expected.

Among the attractions most visited by tourists are the Harley Motor Show, Hollywood Dream Cars, Super Car Show, Mirante Vale do Quilombo, Lake Negro, Lake Joaquina Bier, the entrance via Taquara, the entrance via Nova Petrópolis , Mini Mundo, Cascata Véu de Noiva, Aldeia do Papai Noel, Parque Knorr, Palácio dos Festivais, Praça das Bandeiras, Rua Madre Verônica (covered street), Praça Major Nicoletti, Igreja São Pedro, the cultural center, the Museum of Film Festivals, Lutheran Church, chocolate factories, Dreamland Wax Museum, Torta Street (R. Emílio Sorgetz), Snowland, among others.

Another place worth visiting is the Medieval Museum, located in a medieval-style castle (which has been built for the last 30 years, exclusively by a single person, its owner), in addition to displaying medieval coats of arms, it also houses the unique Brazilian Cutlery Museum, displaying knives, swords, daggers, etc., from all over the world.

In addition to family and group tourism, Gramado has become a reference in business tourism. Due to this new niche, the city built a structure to house all types of activities. Gramado Serra Park and ExpoGramado are spaces that together add up to 35 000 square meters of area and that have enough infrastructure to host large fairs. Hotels such as Serra Azul and Serrano have convention centers with adequate equipment for holding panels and debates. In addition to these, the Festivals Palace can also serve as an auditorium and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul built its own Events and Training Center in the city.

Several events such as congresses and festivals take place in Gramado throughout the year. During winter, for example, there is Estação Gramado, the main event at this time of year. The city hosts other major events, such as the Gramado Film Festival, Natal Luz, as well as the Hydrangea Festival, Chocofest, the Fenim International Advertising Festival (National Fashion Industry Fair), among others.

Porto Alegre is a Brazilian municipality and the capital of the southernmost state in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul. With an area of almost 500 km² and a population of 1 492 530 inhabitants, it has a diverse geography, with hills, lowlands and a large lake: the Guaíba. It is 2,027 km from the national capital, Brasília.

The city was founded on the arrival of Azorean couples in the mid-18th century. In the 19th century, it counted on the influx of many German and Italian immigrants, as well as receiving Spaniards, Africans, Poles and Lebanese. Home to the largest urban concentration in the South region and the fifth most populous in Brazil, it developed quickly and is now home to almost 1.5 million inhabitants within municipal limits and around 4,311,019 inhabitants in the metropolitan region. With 37.7% of the population living in apartments, it is the second most verticalized capital in the country, after Vitória (ES). The city faces many challenges, including the fact that part of the population lives in sub-housing conditions, high cost of living, high incidence of obesity and smoking, serious deficiencies in terms of pollution, degradation of original ecosystems, high crime rates and growing traffic problems.

On the other hand, it boasts more than 80 awards and titles that distinguish it as one of the best Brazilian capitals to live, work, do business, study and have fun. It was also highlighted in 2010 by the UN as the number 1 Metropolis in terms of quality of life in Brazil three times; as having one of the 40 best democratic public management models due to its Participatory Budget and for having the best Human Development Index (HDI) among the national metropolises. IBGE data pointed it in 2009 as the Brazilian capital with the lowest unemployment rate, the British consulting firm Jones Lang LaSalle included it in 2004 among the 24 cities with the greatest potential to attract investment in the world[26] and appears in the list of Pricewaterhouse Coopers among the hundred richest cities in the world. Porto Alegre received the classification of self-sufficient city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network (GaWC).

Furthermore, Porto Alegre is one of the most wooded and literate cities in the country, it is a regional hub for attracting migrants in search of better living, working and studying conditions and has an infrastructure in many aspects superior to that of other capitals in Brazil. It made international headlines when it hosted the first editions of the World Social Forum and was chosen as one of the venues for the 2014 World Cup. It also has a qualified and diversified culture, with intense activity in practically all areas of the arts, sports and sciences, often with national projection, in addition to having rich folklore traditions and a significant historical heritage in centuries-old buildings and numerous museums.

Rio Sul, in Botafogo, is one of the main shopping malls in Rio de Janeiro.

Inaugurated on April 28, 1980 in Rio de Janeiro.

It is considered one of the most popular shopping centers in Brazil, having, according to Exame magazine, national importance.

With a privileged location in Botafogo, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, it overlooks tourist attractions such as Pão de Açúcar and Corcovado. It has a varied mix of stores spread over four floors, in addition to having a home center with more than 26 decoration stores, two food courts and a terrace with space for events, restaurants and a unit at the Body Tech gym.

In the beginning of 2006, the project to revitalize the mall was initiated, which is expected to end by the end of 2007. In addition to a new facade, the project modernized several characteristics.

Rio Sul was elected, in the survey "Marcas dos cariocas" (survey of the newspaper O Globo from Grupo Troiano de Branding), as one of the five main shopping malls that live in the heart of those who live in Rio de Janeiro.

Before the arrival of the first Europeans in the region, in the 16th century, it was inhabited by Carijós Indians. The first permanent settlements in Novo Hamburgo date back to the 18th century, when Portuguese, mostly Azorean immigrants, settled in the northwestern part of the city, in the neighborhood known today as Rincão dos Ilhéus, or simply Rincão. On July 25, 1824, German immigrants began to arrive at the Colony of São Leopoldo and soon developed a thriving rural society in the Vale dos Sinos region. Shortly thereafter, small urban centers began to appear in the colonies. One of them was in the Hamburgerberg area (which today is the Hamburgo Velho district), from where the present-day Novo Hamburgo originated. The lack of resources to complete the Porto Alegre-Hamburgerberg railroad, in 1876, made the British who built it to build a station where the work stopped, naming it New Hamburg-Novo Hamburgo.[6] The place, until then an open land, began to attract residents and commerce, giving rise to the city.

The emancipationist movement began to take shape in the early 1920s. The Liga Pró-vilamento, formed in 1926 by several important personalities in the city, was received by the state governor and, on April 5, 1927, the municipality was emancipated. Guilherme Ludwig was elected vice-intendent, with Leopoldo Petry being the first intendant of Novo Hamburgo.

With the city emancipated from São Leopoldo, its industrialization accelerated, becoming one of the economic centers of Vale do Sinos. For a long time, the industry was practically formed only by the leather-footwear chain, with several prominent companies. Among the pioneers stand out Nicolau Becker, creator of the first tannery in the city, Guilherme Ludwig, Pedro Adams Filho, Augusto Jung, Pedro Alles and Artur Haas. The city is known as the "National Footwear Capital".

The growth brought by footwear attracted countless immigrants, swelling the city from the 1960s onwards and giving rise to most of the social problems, given the inability of government officials to adequately accommodate everyone. Although the crisis of the 1990s stopped the population growth in Hamburg, it exacerbated the most serious problems in the city, such as slums, insufficient transport and deficiencies in infrastructure. Currently, the city has one of the tallest buildings in Rio Grande do Sul, Residencial Sunset, located at the top of Hamburgo Velho, with 28 floors, as well as Porto Brasil, in Vila Rosa, also with 28 floors.

The FESTIVAL DE CINEMA DE GRAMADO turned the spotlight on Serra Gaúcha, establishing Gramado as one of the most sought after tourist destinations in all of Brazil and the Gramado attraction that brings the most reputation and spontaneous media coverage to the municipality. Throughout its trajectory, the event followed all phases of national cinema, becoming a pioneer and reference in the realization of events of the genre in national territory. Since the first edition with the acclaim of “Toda Nudez Will Be Castigada”, by Arnaldo Jabor, in 1973, more than a thousand Kikitos have been distributed among film professionals who won the Festival in different categories. In addition to celebrating Brazilian and Rio Grande do Sul productions, the event also includes a competitive show of Ibero-American films since 1992. The Oscarito, Eduardo Abelin, Kikito de Cristal and Cidade de Gramado trophies pay tribute to actors, filmmakers and personalities linked to cinema.

For fifty years, the city has hosted one of the most important film festivals in Latin America. Gramado is an unforgettable feast for the senses. The place of generous and breathtaking landscapes, of the green of the mountains and valleys, of the fog, of the snow and of the hydrangeas and lavenders.

With the largest tourist infrastructure in Rio Grande do Sul, Gramado offers more than 200 gastronomic houses that serve from the simplest to the most demanding palate. The hotel chain has hundreds of establishments and is recognized for the excellence of the services provided. To this end, it provides around 15,000 beds.

It is impossible to go through the city without taking products with the quality of Gramado, including homemade chocolates, knitwear, furniture, handicrafts, leather and colonial products.

For professional activities, guarantee of good business. Two large fairs and events centers totaling 35,000 m2, in addition to convention centers and rooms, found in several hotels.

Nature lovers cannot fail to make an agrotourism itinerary, as it is in the colonies that Gramado's most original and beautiful landscape is hidden.

The Oscar Niemeyer Museum, also known as the Eye Museum or MON, in Curitiba, Paraná, is an art museum.

The complex of two buildings, installed in an area of thirty-five thousand square meters (of which nineteen thousand are dedicated to the exhibition area), is a true example of architecture combined with art.

The first building was designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1967, faithful to the style of the time, conceived as an Institute of Education. This building has the second largest free span in Brazil, with 65 m. It was renovated and adapted to the function of a museum, for which Niemeyer designed the annex, resembling an eye, giving it a new characteristic identity.

Inaugurated on November 22, 2002 under the name of New Museum, with the completion of the annex it was reopened on July 8, 2003, receiving the current name. It is known locally as "Museu do Olho", due to the design of its building, or as "MON", short for Oscar Niemeyer Museum.

The institution focuses on visual arts, architecture and design. Due to its grandeur, beauty and the importance of the collection, it currently represents a cultural institution with national and international projection.

Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho, born in Rio de Janeiro, December 15, 1907 and also deceased in Rio de Janeiro, December 5, 2012, was a Brazilian architect, considered one of the key figures in the development of modern architecture.

Niemeyer was best known for the civic building projects for Brasília, a planned city that became Brazil's capital in 1960, as well as for his collaboration with the group of UN member state-nominated architects who designed the United Nations headquarters in Nova York, United States.

His exploration of the constructive possibilities of reinforced concrete was highly influential at the time, as in late 20th and early 21st century architecture.

Praised and criticized for being a "sculptor of monuments", Niemeyer was a great artist and one of the greatest architects of his generation by his supporters. He claimed that his architecture was heavily influenced by Le Corbusier, but in an interview he asserted that this "has not stopped [his] architecture from going in a different direction".

Farroupilha Park, better known as Parque da Redenção or simply as Redenção, is the most traditional and popular park in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Visited by many people from Porto Alegre during their leisure time, whether to practice sports, sunbathe or socialize drinking mate with family and friends.

STORY
The place where the park is today was the so-called Várzea do Portão, a large floodplain close to the old gate of Vila de Porto Alegre. In 1807, the City Council asked the then governor of the Captaincy of São Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul to donate the Várzea to be used as a public place, as well as a concentration area for the herds of cattle brought in for local supply.

In 1826, an attempt at subdivision was prevented by the Emperor Dom Pedro I. However, later Várzea suffered several other attempts at subdivision and alteration of its primary objectives, which were always impeded by the public authorities.

During the Farroupilha Revolution (1835-1845) the area was outside the city's fortifications, and after the conflict there were several irregularities, such as fences advancing its territory and buildings, duly demolished.

In 1870, Várzea received its first official name, changing its name to Campo do Bonfim, in view of the construction of the Capela do Bonfim.

With the progress of urbanization in the surroundings, health considerations have become important. Still subject to occasional flooding, the site was also used as a hide-drying area, a meeting point for trucks and an urban garbage dump until the mid-1890s.

In 1884 its name was changed to Campos da Redenção, commemorating the early abolition of slavery in the city. In 1889, alleys were opened inside for better landscaping. In 1901 the park was landscaped and embellished on the occasion of the great State Exhibition, which led to the construction of a bullfighting circus, a horse racing track and the velodrome of União Velocipédica, structures that did not survive for a long time.

In 1914, a Plan for the Improvement and Embellishment of the Capital was drawn up, providing for the park to be divided into nine blocks. In 1927, the effective landscaping of Campos da Redenção began, with the prohibition of stopping trucks and herds in 1928. In preparation for the Farroupilha Centennial Exhibition in 1935, the entire southern part was drained, leveled and urbanized. This year its name was changed to Parque Farroupilha, which remains until today.

In 1939 the water mirror was built. The Jardim Alpino, Jardim Ocidental and Jardim Oriental corners were established in 1941. After the great flood of 1941, a corner was created that received the old French cast iron fountain, which was installed in Pereira Parobé Square, and which had previously been in the XV de Novembro Square. In 1953, the Monument to the Expeditionary was inaugurated.

Since then, the complex has not ceased to be landscaped and urbanized, but the gardens have lost other fragments to make way for gas stations and an amusement park, a mini zoo and a sports complex. Of the park's original 69 hectares, 35.7 hectares remain today, with 45 monuments inside. On Sundays, the traditional Brique da Redenção is held in the park, with numerous stalls selling handicrafts, food and antiques. Parque Farroupilha was listed on January 3, 1997 by the municipality of Porto Alegre. The place is commonly a stage for popular demonstrations.

Ipanema is one of the most famous neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, we can say.

In this walking video I walked through some of the busiest streets in the neighborhood to Ipanema Beach. Show how the day-to-day of commerce, residents, neighborhood goers and the distance, how it is to walk to the beach.
I turned a little more to show the neighborhood than the normal way to the beach. But you can get a sense of the reality of Ipanema.

I started at Av. Henrique Dumont until I arrived in front of the Obelisk of Ipanema. So I walked from Rua Visconde de Pirajá until I entered Rua Farme de Amoedo, from where I went to Ipanema Beach. In the end, I took my bike and used it to film the path of the Ipanema boardwalk.

It's summer in Brazil and the beaches are getting busier. Cariocas go to the beach to cool off and also enjoy leisure time with friends and family.
There is also a lot of practice of sports authentically created by cariocas, such as the "Altinha" which consists of a formation in a circle where players cannot drop the ball on the ground, but what is different is that the players make attacking moves that force making saves to keep the ball from falling. Along with that, there is always the intention of making aesthetic plays. Also, another sport created by cariocas is Frescobol, a kind of tennis game where the ball cannot fall and they are hit with some force. Unlike tennis, players are not opponents, they play together to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible. It's a good reflex game.

Garibaldi is a municipality in Serra Gaúcha, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil.

Garibaldi keeps, in its ancient architecture, in the churches that represent the center of the villages, in the capitals along the roadsides in the interior, pieces of history of its origin and its settlement. Privileged in natural beauties, it is located in the region called Encosta Superior do Nordeste, in Rio Grande do Sul.

In a decree of May 24, 1870, the colonies of Conde d'Eu and Dona Isabel were created, which would later constitute the municipalities of Garibaldi and Bento Gonçalves. In 1870, the Conde d'Eu Colony appeared, named in honor of the son-in-law of Emperor Pedro II, Luís Filipe Maria Fernando Gastão d'Orléans, Prince of Orléans and Count d'Eu.

In the second half of the 19th century, immigrants arrived in Rio de Janeiro and were confined to Ilha das Flores, and continued their journey south on steamships in precarious conditions. Arriving in Porto Alegre, they were taken to overcrowded accommodations, followed by boats to Montenegro. To reach Conde d'Eu, the trip could take up to three days on a road that often did not allow the passage of wagons, causing people to carry their luggage, utensils and food on their backs for long stretches.

In 1870, about 15 Prussian (German) families arrived, who found some Portuguese and Kaingang Indians here. These immigrants received help from the government to build their house and tools to start farming. They lived by exchanging food and various tasks, and the work in road construction was paid by the government, but the payment took a long time to reach the workers.

In 1874, with the opening of a trail on the Figueira de Mello Line, there was an increase in the flow of immigrants. And it started the arrival of mainly Italian immigrants, coming mostly from Northern Italy.

At the beginning of 1875, a wave of immigrants arrived in Conde d'Eu, about 40 Swiss-French couples or families, who settled in the lots located on Estrada Geral. Thus, the first colonizing nucleus was formed. The first family of Italian origin that had access to the colony was that of Cirillo Zamboni, from Mattarello, Tyrol, Austrian Empire, on November 15, 1875. On December 24, 1875, the first large wave of Tyrolean immigrants arrived.

The settlers had to dispute land with wild beasts and animals: cougars, jaguars, tapirs, graxains, venomous snakes, among others. They cut down the forests, built their houses first in wood and then in masonry; they organized rich and extensive crops of wheat, corn, barley, and oats, in addition to the vine.

With the progress of the colony, the process of emancipation began. On April 12, 1884, the Conde d'Eu Colony was elevated to the Parish of São Pedro de Conde d'Eu. The District was created on April 26, 1884, by Provincial Law No. 1,455. On October 31, 1900, the parish emancipated itself with the name of Garibaldi, in honor of the farroupilha hero Giuseppe Garibaldi.

The arrival of Syrian families: Koff, Nehme, Mereb, Lahude and Nejar, who developed the center of this city with its large commercial houses, is considered to be of enormous importance in the development and history of Garibaldi.

In Porto Alegre, POA, in the Moinhos de Vento neighborhood, I walked through Parque Moinhos de Vento (ParCão) and also known streets like Rua Padre Chagas, Rua Dinarte Ribeiro, Rua Félix da Cunha.

CURRENT FEATURES
Upscale neighborhood, Moinhos has been significantly modified in recent years, through the construction of many residential buildings and with the great expansion of commerce. Precisely because of its attraction for investment, debates have taken place concerning the preservation of old mansions in the neighborhood and their replacement by other more modern buildings.

In the early 2000s, a shopping center named after the neighborhood was built, Moinhos Shopping, integrated into the city's first international five-star hotel, the Sheraton Hotel Porto Alegre. Although small compared to other shopping centers, it is home to more than 100 high-end stores. In March 2012, the land for the mall and the hotel was acquired by Grupo Zaffari for R$ 220 million reais.

Like other streets in the city, the streets of Moinhos de Vento are usually heavily wooded, and some of them fall within the precepts of the "Green Tunnel Law", created to protect roads in this category.

Moinhos de Vento is also home to Avenida Goethe and Rua Fernando Gomes, known as the "Walk of Fame". Both have attractions of the Porto Alegre nightlife, such as bars and restaurants. Another popular street in the neighborhood is Rua Padre Chagas, with several bars, restaurants and luxury brand stores. Another street that stands out for its commerce is Rua Vinte e Quatro de Outubro.

Inaugurated in 1972, the Parque Moinhos de Vento, popularly called "Parcão", is frequented for the practice of exercises, in addition to being the setting for several cultural attractions. Next to the park's lake, there is a replica of an Azorean mill where there is a children's library.

COST OF LIVING
According to the IBGE 2010 Census, Moinhos de Vento is the neighborhood that concentrates the largest number of elderly people in the city: about 26.9% of its residents fit this profile.

A survey carried out by Exame/Ibope in 2011 revealed that Moinhos de Vento is the most expensive neighborhood in Porto Alegre. According to the study, properties in the neighborhood experienced a considerable increase in their prices compared to the previous year. The value per square meter was BRL 12,207 for properties considered "new" and BRL 14,065 for "used" properties.

In another study, focusing on the most expensive and valued streets in the city, it was found out of the thirteen listed addresses, five corresponded to some streets in Moinhos de Vento. The first positioned was Rua Marquês do Herval, due to recent high-end launches. Then came Rua Dinarte Ribeiro for concentrating part of the bars and cafes, among other businesses. Soon after, Rua Engenheiro Álvaro Nunes Pereira was positioned, where the largest apartments in the Capital are located, with more than 800 m² of floor space. The other streets mentioned were Santo Inácio, Barão de Santo Ângelo and Luciana de Abreu.

STORY

The Moinhos de Vento neighborhood was named after the Caminhos dos Moinhos de Vento (which, from 1939 onwards, was renamed Rua Vinte e Quatro de Outubro) and which had mills brought by the Azorean families who settled there and planted and milled wheat.

The neighborhood's growth was boosted in 1893, with the implementation by Companhia Carris of the Independencia tram line. The opening of Prado Independência, in 1894, was another factor that contributed to the progress of the neighborhood. In 1959, the meadow was transferred to the Cristal district, and was renamed Hipódromo do Cristal, and the Grêmio FOOT-Ball Portoalegrense stadium until 1954, which came to be the Parque Moinhos de Vento - (the "Parcão") - which has become the biggest attraction of the region.

The construction of the Hydraulic Moinhos de Vento, in 1904, led to the opening of several streets in its vicinity.

On the border with the Independência neighborhood, the German Hospital was inaugurated in 1927, which, from 1942 onwards, due to the Second World War, was renamed Hospital Moinhos de Vento.

From 1961 to 1994, Moinhos de Vento had a "street cinema" called Cine Coral, originally created as "Cine Moinhos de Vento". This space operated on the ground floor of a building on Avenida Vinte e Quatro de Outubro, in front of Parcão, until the day it closed its doors due to competition with shopping malls. In July 2012, there was a mobilization of dozens of people interested in revitalizing the space of the former Cine Coral and creating a theater or a cultural center for the neighborhood.

Blumenau's history is the result of the arrival of German immigrants who settled in the fertile lands of the Atlantic Forest and built the São Paulo de Blumenau colony. It was founded by pharmaceutical chemist Hermann Blumenau, after whom the town is named. Having an interest in the problems faced by European immigrants, in 1845 he came to the Society for the Protection of German Emigrants to represent it via power of attorney and headed to Brazil, aiming to install new colonies and, at the same time, verify the situation of those that had already existed. He traveled to Rio Grande do Sul, and then to Santa Catarina, where he visited the German colony of São Pedro de Alcântara. Aware of comments about the Itajaí valley, he explored it in detail, associating with his compatriot Ferdinand Hackradt, as the aforementioned society dissolved.

He obtained from the president of the Province of Santa Catarina a donation of two cubic leagues, from the Garcia river, building a mill and other shacks. After taking certain precautions, he headed for Germany to look for settlers. And on September 2, 1850, Hermann Blumenau returned to the elected zone with the initial seventeen immigrants. At this point, the partnership formed between H. Blumenau and Hackradt had already dissolved. Thus, Blumenau began to be populated. Most of the original immigrants come from small German villages such as Pahnstangen in Thuringia. Among the notorious immigrants arrived, such as the biologist, who collaborated with the ideas of Charles Darwin, Dr. Johann Müller. However, the obstacles were great and Hermann Blumenau requested the help of the imperial government. Pedro II do Brasil acquired the colony for payment in contos de réis and appointed Blumenau as its director in 1860.

Rua XV de Novembro in 1920

Old Quarter, 1920s
In spite of the floods, the clashes with wild animals and even with the natives, due to the work of German immigrants willing to continuously enter in larger numbers, the colony prospered, but not without conflicts with the original inhabitants of the region. Blumenau was inhabited by the Xoclengues Indians, who had their lands invaded by immigrants, giving rise to several conflicts, from which the Indians were the losers. For a series of years there was only one means of transport: the Itajaí River, through which canoes and smaller ships sailed.

Blumenau also received many Italian immigrants, which led to conflicts between these and the German settlers. The Italians were almost all Catholic, while many of Blumenau's Germans were Lutherans. Furthermore, the Italians were settled in peripheral and mountainous lots, while the Germans occupied the flat lands near the center of the colony.

Barra da Tijuca is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro at the turn of the 20th century to the 21st century; increased from 24,000 inhabitants in 1980 to 394,000 inhabitants in 2020.
Currently, it is considered a financial, gastronomic, hotel and entertainment center in the state capital. It has been the target of migration from other neighborhoods in the municipality. It is estimated that the population of Barra will double by 2030.

Barra da Tijuca beach is the main beach in the region and stretches along Avenida Lúcio Costa to Recreio dos Bandeirantes. It is the largest beach in the state of Rio de Janeiro, eighteen kilometers long and its sands are white and fine. From Ayrton Senna avenue the beach has no boardwalk, as it is a region of environmental preservation. It has strong, tubular waves and very good for surfing and bodyboarding. There are several stages of Brazilian and even world championships such as WSL.

The Marapendi Reserve is located in the immediate vicinity. The main sports practiced in the sea at Barra da Tijuca beach are edge fishing, kitesurfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, surfing and Stand up Paddle, and is also the stage for many championships. On its edge, it is very common to find people practicing other sports, such as beach soccer, footvolley, volleyball, paddleball, slackline and even taking walks on the boardwalk or cycling along the bike path. The Orla do Guaíba in Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul, a state in the southern region of Brazil, although it had been a park in the state capital for a long time, it was little frequented due to its state of conservation and poor infrastructure. However, in recent years the place has undergone a major transformation and revitalization, which has attracted a large part of the population of Rio Grande do Sul to attend the place as a leisure area. It is common to see the Orla do Guaíba, especially at the height of the Centro Cultural Usina do Gasômetro, which is very busy. In a few days it's even crowded, you might say.

The Park is divided into 4 sections:

1) Section 1 of Orla do Guaíba is the place where many families go to have fun on the weekends.

Stretch that goes from Usina do Gasômetro to Rotula das Cuias. It is filled with benches overlooking Lake Guaíba, taps with hot water for typical and traditional chimarrão. This stretch has bars and restaurants, in addition to the statue of the singer Elis Regina.

From Leblon beach, in Rio de Janeiro, near Posto 12, to the Jardim de Alah channel and back to the same point.
I also got off on the beach at post 12 to show the movement there.

Even as winter approaches, we still have a few days of beach and leisure by the sea.

Copacabana Beach is the most famous beach in Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, the main Brazilian tourist city.

In the days of scorching heat it becomes a true oasis of cold water. Even with its 4 kilometers of extension and a wide strip of sand, it usually crowds on sunny days, leading thousands of people to enjoy the carioca way on the beach.

There you see many people playing sports, some invented right there on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, such as Altinha, Futevolei and Frescobol. But you also see the Beach Volleyball and even shuttlecock.

As a family attraction, it is also a fun place for children who love to play at the water's edge.

In addition to the taste of a cold beer (for those who like alcoholic beverages), there is another trend launched on Rio's beaches: the consumption of the famous Mate-Leão with Globo biscuit, simple and very good! Coconut water is also a must!

But calm down, you don't have to get up to fetch, with a lot of street vendors, you can just wait for a salesperson to yell, "Olha o mate ... mate-leao gelado". Or, signal to the vendor at the sales stand that he will always be close to you.

May this experience be marked by many good things!

But be warned, as in any place of great tourist appeal, there may be seizures in search of "opportunities" to practice small thefts. So the tip is: always pay attention to your valuable items.

Ipanema beach is the favorite of the young carioca. Unlike what tourists think, Copacabana beach is not the main beach for the carioca. It is actually Ipanema and Leblon.

Enjoy and know a little about the human behavior and culture of Brazilian tropical beaches at summer. The "Carioca way". In the authentic way, without interference, with high quality sounds.

The Imperial City, Petrópolis is a municipality located in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro.

It occupies an area of 795,798 km², its population in 2018 was 305 687 inhabitants according to the estimate. In addition to being the largest and most populous city in the Fluminense Mountain Region and the Petrópolis Intermediate Geographic Region, it also has the largest GDP and HDI in the region.

The mild climate, historic buildings and abundant vegetation are major tourist attractions. In addition, the city has a lively trade and services, in addition to agricultural production (especially fruit production) and industry. Founded on the initiative of Emperor Dom Pedro II (its name comes from the junction of the Latin word Petrus (Pedro) with the Greek word Pólis (city), becoming "Cidade de Pedro"). It is often called "Imperial City", as it was Dom Pedro's favorite route for his moments of leisure and rest.

In 1822, the Brazilian emperor Dom Pedro I, on his way to Minas Gerais along the Caminho do Ouro, stayed at Padre Correia's farm and was delighted with the region. He acquired a neighboring farm, Fazenda do Córrego Seco, which came to be called Imperial Fazenda da Córrego Seco, where he intended to build a palace.

His son, Dom Pedro II, on March 16, 1843, signed an imperial decree that determined the settlement of a settlement (to be formed with the arrival of German immigrants) and the construction of the dreamed summer palace, whose cornerstone was settled by the Emperor in May 1845, and which was ready in 1847. Conceived by Major Júlio Frederico Koeler, it is considered as the second projected city in Brazil (after Recife, projected at the time of the Dutch), being composed of an urban nucleus - the city (today, the Center), where the Imperial Palace was located, public buildings, commerce and services.

From then on, during the summer, the city became the capital of the Empire of Brazil, with the change of the entire court. A large number of inhabitants of the city of Rio de Janeiro also moved during the summer to Petrópolis to escape the outbreaks of yellow fever. Dom Pedro II ruled for 49 years and, in at least forty summers, remained in Petrópolis, eventually for up to five months. On September 29, 1857, the town was elevated to city status. In 1861, the first macadamized highway in Brazil, Estrada União e Indústria, was opened, connecting the city to Juiz de Fora. In 1883, the Príncipe do Grão Pará Railway (in the future Leopoldina Railway) arrived in the city at the initiative of Barão de Mauá, being inaugurated by Dom Pedro II.

Regardless of the time of year, it was in Petrópolis that foreign diplomatic representatives lived for most of the imperial period.

Blumenau is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, it is the third municipality in population in the state, the 8th in the Southern Region of Brazil, the 78th in Brazil and the only medium-large city in Santa Catarina, constituting one of its main industrial centers, technology and university.

Blumenau is the economic center of the Itajaí valley, with the textile and computer industries standing out — with national and international companies, such as Companhia Hering, the 16th largest in the state of Santa Catarina, and the largest label manufacturer in the world, Haco. It is also noted the regional relevance of the services and trade sector; namely health and education, with the University of Blumenau and four hospitals. Blumenau has one of the highest human development indices in Brazil and extensive vegetation cover due to the presence of the Serra do Itajaí National Park in its territory. However, it has social problems in common with the rest of Brazil, such as the presence of 23,131 inhabitants in favelas, the highest number in Santa Catarina in 2010.
