Chelsea's trying to decide if she should switch to the mirrorless full-frame Sony a7R III (http://sdp.io/a7r3). So far, the Sony has won for travel photography and portraits. Will Sony beat Nikon for wildlife photography? Chelsea's standard wildlife photography rig is the Nikon D850 (http://sdp.io/d850), the Nikon 600mm f4 (http://sdp.io/n600) and the Nikon 1.4X teleconverter. Sony doesn't currently have a 600mm f/4 lens, but they do have a 400mm f/2.8 (http://sdp.io/s400gm), and with a 2X teleconverter, the focal length and speed are about the same. Can the a7R III keep up with the D850's focusing? Is the image quality good enough despite needing a 2X teleconverter? How does the Sony a7R III's higher frame rate and silent shooting factor in? And what about the Sony a9-which has an incredible 20 FPS frame rate and a better focusing system?
