In today's video, I went on an epic surf fishing adventure to enjoy the beach without any tourists since they are not allowed into the Outer Banks at this time. It ended up being a great day, full of action! I used tuna belly, shrimp, bluefish, sea mullet, and bunker for bait .. Just couldn't choose! Although I didn't catch exactly what I was hoping for, I still had a blast reeling in some monster fish! I've always wondered what it would be like to enjoy the Outer Banks, where I call home, without the tourists and crowds just for a little while after the weather got nice. Winter is hard here.. as soon as the weather starts to pick up, an influx of people come in from all over to enjoy the beaches. This place runs on vacationers and we all share a love for everything it has to offer. But often, the locals and natives don't get to enjoy the benefits of living here as you would when you were on vacation. Due to work, crowded areas, or other everyday obligations. During this crazy time, I have found more of an appreciation than ever for the place I call home. I'm grateful to get to experience and enjoy all of it's glory with more peace than what would usually be around this time of year. I pray all of you are staying safe and finding your own silver lining.. I hope we can all get back to "normal" soon and share the beach with more gratitude and respect than ever before :)
