I was watching videos the other night and don’t ask me why or how I stumbled across these delicious looking chicken wraps that had gone viral. Of course, I thought, I have to duplicate these. I did and they came out incredible. In light of that, I thought I would share my version with you.

First off, I decided to do the chicken from scratch. As always, I know what I’m getting. If you don’t feel so inclined, you can go to your favourite fast take out and grab some to go. They will probably be just as good anyway.

It was not really the ingredients that intrigued me as much as the process of making them. Although I will discuss some of the ingredients I used with you. This is simple my version, but you can use just about anything you like with this recipe. The sky is the limit so to speak.

Ingredients:

2 large tortilla wrappers
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut in half (4 total)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp of garlic powder
1/ cup of all purpose flour
1 beaten egg
1 cup of Italian bread crumbs
olive oil or vegetable oil for frying
1 tbsp of Miracle Whip or mayo
1/2 cup of shredded Monterey Jack Cheese, divided
2 or 3 leaves of lettuce
6 rings of sliced onions
4 slices of avocado

Directions:

Season chicken on both sides with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Using three bowls, place the flour in one bowl, the egg in another, and the bread crumbs in the last bowl. Dredge each piece of chicken in each dredging station.
Add some oil to a pan over medium high heat. Place the chicken in and fry, in batches, for about 3 - 4 minutes on each side or until it's no longer pink and golden brown. Set it aside on a plate.
Slice the chicken into strips.
Place the tortilla on a flat surface. Using a sharp knife, make a slice from the centre all the way to the outer edge. This will give you 4 quadrants.
Spread the Miracle Whip or mayo onto one quadrant followed by half the cheese.
Place the bacon onto the second section.
Put the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions onto the third quadrant.
Last, but not least, put some chicken strips onto the last section.
Fold the first quadrant onto the second and so forth until all are folded and a triangle forms.
Heat your grill and place the wrap on, put the lid down, and allow it to cook for about 5 minutes or until you get some beautiful grill marks and the wraps are heated through.
Serve and enjoy your viral crispy chicken wraps.
