The topic of deepfakes has been widely discussed over the past few years. The technology behind them, based on machine learning and AI, has obviously struck a cord of concern in many people, which has remained consistent throughout the multiple waves of attention the news cycles has given the phenomenon. The latest of such waves came along with a TikTok account of a fake Tom Cruise, which pushes the possibilities of deepfake technology the furthest we've seen yet. Should you be worried?
