Reviewing the Realme 9 Pro Plus, the most advanced of that new 9 series of budget smartphones, including a full camera test, gaming performance and battery life. If you're a demanding user after an all-round excellent phone but on a strict-ish budget, the Realme 9 Pro Plus should hopefully satisfy.

The camera tech beats rivals like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, spaffing out crisp, good looking photos in most conditions. You have 4K video smarts too, for your home movies.

Performance isn't quite as strong as some alternatives, as the Realme 9 Pro Plus struggles with demanding fare like Genshin Impact. However, PubG, Call of Duty Mobile and other popular games play perfectly, with a smooth frame rate on higher details. Also, Realme UI 3 serves up a selection of gaming tools to keep you competitive.

Battery life gets a proper thumbs up. I never once ran dry even with intensive screen-on time, while the fast charge support means you're refilled in no time.
