There is definitely an art to making realistic model trees, and it doesn’t have to be hard or expensive.
In this tutorial I’ll demonstrate a very easy, cheap and effective way of modelling pine trees, I say easy and it truly is!

Search for Foxtail Fern on Google and you will get all the info you need, you can also search for it on eBay and buy Foxtail Fern seeds, that way you can grow all the trees you need right in your backyard!

You will be amazed at how realistic these model trees look and they will be a great compliment to your model railroad or model diorama. They will also work well for other applications as well such as war gaming and architectural modelling.
