The New Year's party in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, is one of the most traditional in the world. Each year, millions of people crowd the city's beaches and streets to celebrate New Year's Eve. Dressed in white, Brazilians celebrate and celebrate.

This tradition came from Umbanda and Candomblé, Afro-Brazilian religions derived from traditional African cults. The practice of sending requests to Iemanjá (water divinity and mother of the other orixás - deities) is very common.
To place the order, the person needs to offer something to Iemanjá (offering), in addition to wearing white.
The most common offerings are: flowers, candles, white cocadas, perfumes in small boats by the sea and perform seven jumps in seven waves.
