Rua Oscar Freire is considered one of the main shopping addresses for street stores in the city of São Paulo. I walked from Av Paulista, taking the subway to Rua Oscar Freire.

Oscar Freire Street is rated as one of the most expensive square meters in Latin America, and recognized for being one of the most elegant and valued shopping spots in the city of São Paulo. Usually these stores make a concept space, that is, a store different from those they have in other neighborhoods and cities. In 2008, it was elected by Excellence Mystery Shopping survey as the 8th most luxurious region in the world. It reached its peak between 2004 and 2006. Altogether, there are 110 stores associated with the Garden Shopkeepers Association (ALOJ). Despite being long (2600 meters), it gathers, in a few blocks, in the vicinity between the intersection with Rua Augusta, some of the most famous and expensive brands operating in the country in the fashion and accessories sector, such as Shoulder, Le Lis Blanc , Tommy Hilfiger, Forum, Osklen, Camper, H. Stern, Ellus, Animale, Canal, Rosa Chá, Spezzato, Track & Field, Montblanc, Pandora, among others.

It is the fourth most luxurious street on the American continent after Fifth Avenue, in New York, and Avenida Presidente Masaryk and Rua Madero, both located in Mexico City. In the transversal and parallel streets to Oscar Freire, such as Haddock Lobo, Bela Cintra, Melo Alves and Alameda Lorena, important international boutiques were found, such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bulgari and Cartier, which closed their stores ports in the region. However, international brands Roberto Cavalli and Versace still have stores in operation.

Oscar Freire and its adjacent streets are also home to a number of restaurants and bars, including Fasano, Piselli, Antiquarius, Almanara, Chez Oscar, Italy, Serafina, PJ Clarke's and recently opened a franchise of Burger Joint, New York, owned by actor Bruno Gagliasso, and sweet shops, including Ici Brasserie, Gero, Rodeio, A Bela Sintra, Baccio di Latte and Ben & Jerrys ice cream parlors, Dulca, Kopenhagen, Cristallo and recently Carlo's Bakery. The streets also feature graffiti artwork by renowned artist Kobra.

Furthermore, the street is considered to be a place where many celebrities can usually be seen shopping in the luxury stores.
