The DP World Tour is back in Belgium for the first time in three years as a strong field tees it up at the 2022 Soudal Open. Local hero Thomas Pieters is joined by countrymen Nicolas Colsaerts and Thomas Detry, while former winners at Rinkven International Golf Club Adrian Otaegui and Guido Migliozzi are also in action. Bernd Wiesberger made his debut at this event when it was the Belgian Knockout in 2019 and proved he had the ability to go low at Rinkven. The Belgian made a bright start to 2022 and after recording a second top ten of the season at the Catalunya Championship, he could be peaking at the right time for DP World Tour win number nine. Jeff Winther started the season with his best Rolex Series result as he finished in a tie for sixth at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and while he has not had a top ten since, he did hold a share of the 18-hole lead at the Catalunya Championship. It’s all to play for!

The DP World Tour returns to Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club this week for the historic Omega European Masters in the Swiss Alps. Rasmus Højgaard will be looking to mount a successful title defence as he returns from a month-long break, while recent first-time Tour winners Adrian Meronk and Sean Crocker are also in the field which includes 2016 Masters Tournament champion Danny Willett. Ryan Fox arrives in Switzerland sitting in sixth position on the DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and has missed just three cuts in 16 starts this season. The New Zealander claimed his second Tour title earlier this year at the Ras al Khaimah Classic and since then has registered three runner-up finishes. Miguel Ángel Jiménez will make his 32nd appearance at Crans this week. A champion here in 2010, one of 21 victories on Tour, the 58-year-old will be aiming to replicate the form that has seen him win twice on the PGA TOUR Champions this season and register top tens at both the U.S. Senior Open and KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship this year.

The DP World Tour returns to mainland Europe for the D+D Real Czech Masters, just west of Prague. 2022 will mark the eighth edition of the event at the Albatross Golf Resort, with American Johannes Veerman looking to defend his 2021 title, which was his first victory on the tour. In fact, D+D Real Czech Masters has proven a happy hunting ground for first time winners with five out of the eight victors since its inception in 2014 lifting a trophy for the first time on tour. Currently sitting in 6th position on the DP World Tour leaderboard, Belgian Thomas Pieters enters the D+D as the highest ranked golfer. He will be hoping that his consistent form that has seen him only miss three cuts this year will stand him in good stead to be lifting silverware by the end of the weekend, having won the event twice previously in 2015 and 2019. Other notable names to look out for include 2022 Hero Open winner Sean Crocker, 2022 Dutch Open champion Victor Perez and Italian Andrea Pavan who triumphed at the Albatross Golf Resort in 2018.

The Rolex Series returns to the DP World Tour this week as a stellar field assembles at The Renaissance Club for the Genesis Scottish Open. All four reigning Major Champions and 14 of the top 15 players in the Official World Golf Ranking are teeing it up in East Lothian, with the event co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR. Spaniard Jon Rahm is a two-time winner of Ireland's national open and also finished third at The 2021 Open Championship and seventh at this event last season. Add all that to his recent win at the Mexico Open at Vidanta and five other top tens this season and the 2019 European Number One looks a tough man to beat. If anyone is to beat Rahm, it may well be World Number One Scottie Scheffler, a man still enjoying the run of form that catapulted him to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking. The 26-year-old claimed wins at WM Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational and WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play before his maiden Major Championship victory at the Masters Tournament, his fourth win in six events. The DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex continues this week with a visit to Denmark as the 2022 Made in HimmerLand takes place at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort. Twin brothers Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard are among a host of Danes looking for victory on home soil in a field which includes Team Europe Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, while Thriston Lawrence - the Tour’s most recent winner - is targeting a third title of the season. Matt Wallace was unable to register his fifth DP World Tour title and first in almost four years at the Omega European Masters but he arrives in Denmark brimming with belief after his performance in the Swiss Alps. Three top 20s in his six appearances so far on Tour this season demonstrate he is one to watch with interest over the closing months of the season. Meanwhile, Thriston Lawrence's play-off victory against Wallace, completing a wire-to-wire success in Switzerland, propelled him into the top 100 on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career. The 25-year-old, now ranked 87th, won his maiden Tour title at the season-opening Joburg Open last November and has proven a consistent force with five top tens in between his two triumphs.

This week the British Masters returns to the iconic Belfry and will be hosted by Danny Willet for the second year in a row. Defending champion Richard Bland will be back in action, hoping to repeat his heroics of last year’s tournament that saw him triumph in a play-off over Italy’s Guido Migliozzi. After finishing T8 at the 2021 British Masters, Robert MacIntyre will be looking to continue his good form that saw him card a T9 finish at the Ras al Khaimah Championship in February and a respectable T23 at the Masters. Billy Horschel, already a two-time winner of BMW-sponsored golf tournaments, makes his debut in Munich. He reached a career-high 11th in the Official World Golf Ranking following his four-shot victory at the Memorial Tournament on the PGA TOUR earlier this month. Victor Perez is already certain of his spot in The 150th Open Championship at St Andrews in July and after being voted Golfer of the Month for May, he will be able to play with freedom.
