Today, Eddie Woo is arguably Australia’s most famous maths teacher. His YouTube maths channel Wootube has nearly 700,000 subscribers and more than 34 million views.

But Eddie didn’t love the subject at school, and he nearly didn’t become a Maths teacher at all. So what was the year that made Eddie into who he is today? 2004. ABC Radio National’s Elizabeth Jackson finds out why.
