Villa Epecuén was a small town in the Buenos Aires province, founded in 1920 on the shores of a salt lake. The healing properties of its waters made it one of the country’s most renowned holiday resorts.

Following violent rains, in 1985 the lake flooded the whole city. 25 years later the waters retired, revealing a ghost town. 89-year-old local citizen Pablo Novak witnessed the city’s birth and death, andis now the towns only remaining inhabitant.
