Porsche Taycan RWD | Road Review
Advertisement
It's got half the power of the Turbo S, takes about double the time to get to 62mph and has half the motors. It isn't as fast as a Tesla Model S now, and quite possibly doesn't have the performance of the upcoming Audi e-tron GT. In fact, the rear-driven Taycan is slower to 62mph than a Polestar 2. But has taking the motor away from the front axle actually made the Porsche Taycan a better car? Rather than being absolutely designed for outright performance and incredible feats of speed is the basic Taycan (if there really is such a thing) the one that's been made for the driver rather than the numbers? We went to Berkshire (obviously) to find out if an allegedly lesser Taycan is actually the real alternative to a 911 or a Cayman.
