2022 Mitsubishi Outlander accessories / Exterior and Interior
We recently got our first look at the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, and it's a monumental leap forward in comparison to the vehicle it replaces. Not to diminish the new Outlander any, but the ancient and uncompetitive previous Outlander wasn't a segment standout anyway. The new one appears to be a real contender, with interesting styling and appropriate hardware to battle its compact SUV rivals. And now we know what sort of price tag the little SUV will wear when it goes on sale.
The 2022 Outlander starts at $26,990 for a front-wheel-drive ES model. That's less than the cheapest 2021 Toyota RAV4 LE FWD, and a hair more expensive than the 2021 Honda CR-V LX FWD. But how's it stack up against the 2021 Nissan Rogue?
Remember, the Outlander was co-developed on corporate bones with the 2021 Nissan Rogue. The two SUVs have identical engines (for now) and ride on the same platform, although specifics—the available all-wheel-drive systems, the actual tuning of the ride and handling—are unique to each model. And features between the two will certainly vary. But the pricing is very, very close. The 2021 Nissan Rogue is just $90 cheaper than the 2022 Outlander when comparing both SUVs' base models.
The most expensive list price for a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is the SEL with Touring package, which rings in at $37,640. All-wheel drive is a $1,800 upcharge for all trims.
We also have fuel economy estimates for the new 2.5-liter engine. FWD models achieve 24 mpg in the city and 31 highway, while AWD models return 24/30 respectively.
