Inside A Suave Modern British Colonial Style HDB Home In Tiong Bahru (From Its Original 1949 State!)
This week, we visit Tiong Bahru to showcase a very unique walk-up apartment. As a size of 947 square feet, this 3-room HDB home features a very remarkable transformation from its original post-war state from 1949. Homeowners Deneice and Daryl wanted their home to be a mid-century modern British Colonial look, which is definitely very in-keeping with the retro vibes of the Tiong Bahru area.
What's cool is the "balcony" area that still allows it to be a closed off space, and yet allow them to sit and wave to the neighbours or passerby's on the street (plus enjoying air-conditioning). They had to be creative with the bathroom arrangement too (as there is only one bedroom in the apartment), to allow for when friends/family come over!
Many thanks to Deneice and Daryl for taking the time to show us around their lovely home. For more on their unique walk-up, please visit https://www.instagram.com/limliakstories/
