Snooker Challenge | First 16-Red Total Clearance Ever

Steve James had already set two professional snooker records - he was the first player to make two centuries on his Crucible debut, including a 140, the highest ever recorded by a rookie at the time. However, achieving the first 16-red clearance would be his biggest milestone, and he cannot miss this one-time opportunity.

Making a 16-red total clearance is extremely unlikely. First, you need to get a free ball when all 15 reds are still available on the table; that is, you need your opponent to commit a foul and leave you snookered on all 15 reds. Second, after nominating the free ball (a colour ball of your choice will act as an extra red on your first stroke), you have to clear the table in one visit: 16 red-colour followed by the 6 final colours.

Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.
