Recently Wayne Goss has kick started a new skincare trend of combining The Ordinary Peeling Solution and The Ordinary Salicylic Acid Masque for what he calls the ultimate at home power peel. This could be one of the most ridiculous exfoliation hacks I have heard of and could possibly damage your skin so lets explain why.

Skincare hacks come and go and most of them are just harmless fun. Every so often one arrives which has the potential to damage your skin and the first of 2022 is the Wayne Goss peel hack of combining The Ordinary Peeling Solution and The Ordinary Salicylic Acid Masque. There are so many reasons not to follow this skin care hack so lets break them down.

Exfoliation is a key step in a skincare routine and when done correctly it should brighten the skin, help to fade hyperpigmentation, even out the skin tone and of course increase cell turnover. When we do it wrong though it can lead to over exfoliation which damages the skin barrier, causes dryness, peeling and irritation which can lead to the opposite results to what we wanted.
