Copacabana Beach is considered one of the most famous Brazilian beaches. It may not be the favorite of Rio de Janeiro, but when it comes to Brazilian beaches, it may be the first to come in to mind. It is a tourist attraction in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Copacabana attracts a large contingent of tourists to its more than eighty hotels, which are especially crowded during the New Year and Carnival seasons. At the end of the year, the traditional fireworks display at Copacabana Beach attracts a crowd. The waterfront is still the site of various events, such as national and international shows, during the rest of the year.
