Every single one of us has been a victim, bully, or witness of bullying at some point in our lives. It's no surprise that you have been in any of the three positions. But how do you go from one to another? Is being a bully a set trait, or can it be changed over time? Mr. William, who has seen himself in all of these situations multiple times in his life, would like to speak about his journey. William is a 61-year-old American English teacher. He spent most of his life in the Chicago area and now lives in Jacksonville Florida. He has a bachelor’s degree in English/Secondary Education and a Masters’ in Technology in the classroom. William has received two teaching awards; National Society of High School Scholars, 2014 and Most Influential Educator: Independent Colleges of Indiana . He is currently teaching Global Perspectives at the Andijan Presidential School. His interests are reading, writing, hiking, biking, and running half-marathons and triathlons. William spent seven years working with Greenpeace where he traveled and met many different people. He learned to grow out of the shadows of his family and mark a path for himself. He is never afraid to give his opinion or correct incorrect information. He hopes to educate the next generation on the evils of bullying and help those that feel bullied. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
