I'm making myself a new ergonomic computer desk. Back in March 2018 I developed RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) also known as tendonitis in my right arm. Mainly from too much video editing and using a conventional computer mouse. This form of RSI also gets known as 'mouse arm' and is a very common issue for anyone who uses a mouse for long periods of time. My problems were made worse by bad posture and using a desk that really wasn't up to the job. PLEASE if you make YouTube videos, do a lot of design work or perhaps do audio editing don't fall foul to RSI. I've had 6 months of intense pain in my right arm - stops you from sleeping properly, I've lost a lot of 'normal' arm movement and it's generally awful. All could have been avoided if I'd sorted this sooner. In today's video I'm chatting about my RSI problems and what I've done to fix them. I'm also building a new studio desk using mostly reclaimed materials. Next time I'll talk about some of the tech in a bit more detail as this has revolutionised how I use a computer.
