Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

The new Hyundai Tucson 1.6 T-GDI Hybrid (fuel consumption in l / 100 km: urban 5.3; extra urban 4.7; combined 4.9; CO 2 emissions in g / km combined: 112) combines the best of both worlds : The 132 kW (180 hp) of its 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine is joined by an electric motor with an additional 44.2 kW (60 hp). Together, both engines provide a system output of 169 kW (230 PS) and a maximum torque of 350 Newton meters, making the Tucson Hybrid by far the most powerful drive in the Tucson family. At the same time, it consumes the least petrol at 4.9 l / 100 km in combined operation. The Hyundai Tucson Hybrid can also cover short distances purely electrically.

Hyundai has exclusively equipped its hybrid model with a six-speed automatic transmission, which not only increases driving comfort, but also makes it easier for the electronic drive control to efficiently combine petrol and electric operation. In addition, the automatic enables the use of further technical highlights that characterize the top model of the series. The new navigation-based adaptive cruise control system (standard from Trend equipment) can be ordered for the Tucson Hybrid as well as for the models with dual clutch transmission.

The 1.49 kilowatt-hour capacity of the lithium-ion polymer battery in the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid can easily be maintained or charged while driving. This happens either when the Tucson Hybrid is traveling long distances at high speed or - preferably - whenever the driver takes off the accelerator or steps on the brakes, for example when driving downhill or when coasting at a red light. In these situations, the compact electric motor reverses its direction of action and turns into a generator.

This is possible because the electric motor of the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, which is mounted in front of the gearbox, not only generates a remarkable output of 44.2 kW (60 hp), but also an equally impressive torque of 265 Newton meters. With the 132 kW / 180 PS petrol engine, thanks to the turbocharging and direct petrol injection, the maximum torque is available from 1,500 revolutions and thus at an early stage, the electric motor can basically call up its maximum power from a standing start. The combination of electric and gasoline engines results in a system torque of 350 Newton meters and noticeably stronger acceleration from a standing start than with gasoline or diesel engines with comparable engine power. In figures: the new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid completes the standard sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8.0 seconds.

Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

The New SANTA FE Hybrid is equipped with both a petrol engine and an electric motor. Supported by a powerful lithium-ion polymer battery, the two engines ensure outstanding fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. As part of the recuperation braking system, the electric motor also helps to brake the vehicle and charges the electric drive's battery in the process.

Thanks to the dynamic duo consisting of a turbo gasoline engine with direct injection and a powerful battery-operated electric motor, the New SANTA FE advances into new dimensions in terms of fuel efficiency. And you don't have to charge the battery or change your driving habits. The hybrid switches seamlessly between electric motor and conventional motor, sometimes both drives are in use in parallel.

Thanks to the new platform, the battery pack is installed under the front passenger seat and thus ensures greater efficiency without restricting the space available for passengers or luggage.
Enjoy electric acceleration. The electric motor with 44.2 kW offers high torque and high efficiency. The acceleration when starting is also impressive.

The powerful battery with 1.49 kWh impresses with its outstanding charging / discharging properties, thus maximizing the electrical range and energy storage.

The new 6-speed automatic transmission offers improved power transmission and fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor.
Hyundai has developed the world's first variable valve control technology with continuously variable valve duration (CVVD). It optimizes both engine performance and fuel efficiency while being environmentally friendly. With this valve control technology, the opening and closing of the valves is regulated depending on the situation.
