11 best racing games of the 2010s | From Need for Speed to Gran Turismo
The 2010s were the era that PlayStation, xBox and PC racing games really came of age. In the 2000s games had developed from shonky, basic, polygonal graphics and simple physics to looking and feeling a lot more like the real thing. In the 2010s the power of the Xbox One and PS4 as well as the PC’s consistent march in performance meant racing games came on in leaps and bounds to reach levels of realism we never imagined.
The decade saw many favourite franchises - Gran Turismo, Forza and Need for Speed - continue, despite publishing at a slower rate than the manic 2000s, while other new forces sprung up including Asseto Corsa, Project cars and Codemasters' F1 series.
Which was your favourite?
