Scleroderma, What is it?
Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease, which means the immune system attacks the body's own tissues. It's also called connective tissue disease. Systemic sclerosis is rare, but women are 3–4 times more likely than men to develop it.
It can cause a range of symptoms affecting many different parts of your body, most notably changes on your skin, including the hardening, stiffness, shiny and less creases of skin. Red spots and chalky calcium lumps are also common.
