Swimwear in India is a requirement, but it is yet to be accepted widely by the people of the country. Indians come from a mentality that a woman should be covered from top to bottom. A lot of people are not comfortable with the image of a woman exposing the most amount of her body, and straight away guesstimating her as shameless. Bikinis make some inspect a woman's dignity and to objectify her.

Bikinis are not socially accepted by people who are still not in terms with liberalism, feminism, equality and are comfortably rooted in values that have been proved to be logically inaccurate, insufficient and in some cases, derogatory to many. These are the people who reject any form of change, from their daily food habits to dictating the love life of a third person.

The idea of the "perfect body" in a bikini lead to women shaming themselves and not being comfortable to wear one themselves. Society, television, cinema, and media are all responsible for this conditioning. It is our responsibility to shake off this dirt from past and truly accept the notion of personal space and personal freedom.

The future of Bikini is unpredictable in India, but wearing anything is your choice by the end of the day. What do you think?
