Decline And Revival Of Asia’s Cultural Heritage - South Korea, Singapore, Nepal | CNA Correspondent

Asia’s rich cultural heritage is a silent narrator of the stories and history of the hugely diverse region. But some of it is on the verge of being lost forever.
In South Korea, a father and son duo is embarking on a long journey to restore traditional hanok houses - even building one from scratch - to turn them into lodging for travellers. In Singapore, the chief of one of the city’s last surviving kampungs tries to fulfil her father’s dying wish and protect the land from encroaching development. And over in Nepal, the younger generation is breaking away from restrictions of caste and gender to practise the sacred art of paubha, and bringing back long-lost rituals surrounding the vanishing art form.
CNA Correspondent puts the spotlight on communities in Asia whose heritage faces the threat of becoming casualties of time.
