NEW Lotus Eletre EV SUV first look. 373 mile range 600hp electric Urus/SQ8 beater. The Lotus Eletre, also known as the T132, but conceived as codename Lambda is the company's first SUV, first 4 door and is all electric with 600+hp and 373 mile range. It will be solely made in Lotus' huge new factory and dev facility in Wuhan, China (yes, that place) and takes the fight to the likes of Cayenne, Urus, SQ8 and other cars of a genre Jonny quite vocally doesn’t particularly like.

The intrigue, however, is Lotus' approach. This carbonfibre and aluminium thing looks like the Urus always should have. It’s a very sporty crossover/coupe type shaped beast. It is 4 or 5 seat and will have over 600hp, awd (with optional 4ws) and rapid charge ability of up to 350kW. So it's fast.
It is also exceedingly luxurious, so as to whet the appetites of new customers who haven't been attracted to the Lotus name prior to now.

The Eletre's aggressive looks are focused around air flow. There are huge dug-outs all around the car, from bonnet area (a little like the cruelly overlooked Jag iPace EV) and under the rear light bar. You can see right through to tyres and brakes. The front end has petal-inspired active air flaps, which we bet Lambo wish they'd invented for their hex-themed creations.
