Rory McIlroy faces the media after an incredible opening round of -6, 66 around the Old Course in St Andrews.
Opening with a huge putt on the first hole, he showed he was in great form around the green with 2 potential knee knockers for par before taking off from the 5th.
It could be argued he left a birdie behind at 9 but was still out in 32. Another birdie was left behind at the 10th before a birdie at 12 after a stunning chip from the straw followed.
A bit of a missed shot with his 2nd to 13 left him with a near impossible chip in & a monster par putt that he lagged in really nicely to mitigate the damage.
A really strong finish with birdies on 14 & 18 left him in prime position after Round 1 of the 150th Open Championship.
