The purpose in sharing my story is to shed some light on the reality of this process and the struggles I faced as a competitor that you didn’t/don’t see. I think it’s important to show the good with the bad because I don’t want people viewing my accomplishments as unrealistic expectations for themselves.

It’s comforting seeing successful people face and overcome struggles of their own because it reminds us that everyone has to fail at some point in order to grow.

Everyone faces defeat, but it’s how you recover that separates the good from the great.

If you’re looking to compete, are on a fitness journey of your own, or just need some reassurance that everyone deals with their own internal battles, whether they admit them or not, I encourage you to listen to my story and hopefully you will find comfort in knowing that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of it.

Remember, people only show you what they want you to see, it doesn’t always mean it’s the truth…
