While making the knife I ruined five sanding drums and a pack of ten here is around the same price as a table saw blade. So I decided to make my own from sandpaper and dowels.

This also offers the benefit of making them in grits and sizes not available on the market.

It's a fast process and you get a lot of them from a small piece of sandpaper. All the sanding drums in the final picture are made from only the 60 grit sandpaper sheet. The other two sheets will be made off camera.

They are quite useful for shaping wood, like for knife handles. You can see a lot of them in my knife video, where I used them in almost all stages of the build.
