RECIPE
500ml | 2 Cups Whole Milk
3ml | 1/2 Teaspoon Peppermint Essence
150g | 5 oz White Chocolate
3 Candy Canes
30ml | 2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup or Glucose Syrup
Whipped Cream for serving
For decorating the rim of the glass crush up the candy canes in a plastic bag using a rolling pin or something heavy with a flat surface. Pour the crushed candy canes into a bowl that will fit the rim of your mug. In another bowl mix together the syrup with a small amount of water to thin it out. Place a mug into the syrup, making sure it's well coated, lift and place into the bowl with the crushed candy canes. They should stick easily just make sure the rim is evenly coated. Set aside to dry while you repeat with the remaining mugs. Pour the milk and peppermint essence into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until simmering, do not let it boil. While waiting for the milk to heat up cut up the white chocolate into smaller pieces so it will melt easier. Place the white chocolate into the saucepan with the hot milk and stir for a few minutes until all of the white chocolate has melted. Remove from the heat and leave to cool for a few minutes so it isn't extremely hot. Pour the peppermint white hot chocolate into the mugs and garnish with whipped cream. Serve immediately.
