Over 40 years, Poh Lim’s drug addiction and theft-related offences have seen him sent to prison 10 times. Due for release soon, he vows this will be the last time behind bars - but is it a promise the 65-year-old can keep?

His elderly mother is tired of visiting him in jail; she just wants him to make a decent life for himself back out in society. But the way he sees it, he's got few educational qualifications, no real job experience to speak of, and is old - who would give him a job?

He's serving the tail end of his 7.5-year sentence at Singapore Prisons' Institution B4, where inmates undergo rehabilitative programmes such as vocational training and counselling to prepare them for release.
