2020 Skoda Superb Laurin & Klement Features, Design and Driving
Skoda UK has announced the pricing and range details of the facelifted Superb, which received a design refresh as well as a host of new technologies.
The UK range of the 2020 Skoda Superb will be divided into six trim grades: S, SE, SE Technology, SE L, Sportline Plus and the flagship Laurin & Klement.
Even the base S models, which start from £24,655, will come with a generous list of standard equipment that includes LED front and rear lights, seven airbags, an infotainment system with DAB, Voice Control and smartphone connectivity.
The SE trim grade, priced from £26,165, adds features like 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors and electrically folding door mirrors, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control, Light Assistant and Driver Fatigue Sensor.
The SE Technology version of the 2020 Skoda Superb is priced from £26,620 and benefits from leather upholstery, heated front seats, Light Assist with high beam control, Blind Spot Detection and Amundsen infotainment system with touchscreen display and integrated Wi-Fi.
Next up we get the SE L trim grade, which adds 18-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, animated indicators, LED Matrix headlights, leather heated seats, electrically operated boot and the upgraded Amundsen infotainment system among other.
For those who want their new Skoda Superb to be more aggressive, the SportLine Plus grade offers 19-inch alloy wheels together with an exterior gloss black body styling kit. The interior gets Alcantara sports seats and the 9.2-inch Colombus infotainment system with integrated WiFi, among other.
The top-of-the-range Laurin & Klement, priced from £35,240, is the most luxurious variant, with leather upholstery, front ventilated and heated seats, rear heated seats, LED interior light pack, tri-zone climate control, heated windscreen, Virtual Cockpit and the 9.2-inch infotainment system, a premium audio system, as well as Dynamic Chassis Control.
Skoda’s flagship model is the first model in the company to adopt full LED Matrix headlights, complimented by a restyled front grille and a new front bumper that also makes it overall longer by 8mm (0.31 inches) to 4,869mm (191.69 inches). Wheelbase, width and height remain the same as before. The new Predictive Cruise Control is also offered for the first time.
The 2020 Skoda Superb will be offered with two petrol and two diesel engines from launch in the UK, ranging from 118hp (120PS) for the 1.6 TDI to 268hp (272PS) for the most powerful 2.0 TSI. Selected models are also offered with the optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions and all-wheel drive.
Later this year, Skoda will offer the 2020 Superb with the 147hp 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines while early in 2020 the range will welcome the Superb iV plug-in hybrid that combines a 153hp 1.4 TSI engine with a 114hp (85kW) electric motor. Skoda promises that the plug-in hybrid Superb iV will offer sub-40g of CO2 emissions, along with an all-electric range of up to 34 miles (54km).
