You've never seen a LEGO build move like this

There's an obvious parallel between the final iteration of this build, and a previous creation of mine: https://youtu.be/DJvIrb3ions

They're both helices, but the primary difference is structural. The slinky of squares is much smaller, and fairly fragile--and adding layers to that build didn't particularly help. This build is very solid, and if I were to make the helix with five or six layer coils it would be even sturdier. It's also structurally dynamic. The final helix has a 23 pointed star in each coil, but there's no reason why I couldn't make those coils 22 points, or 8, or anything in between. And the way that energy moves through the build is just crazy--it looks almost alive. My daughter found it quite disgusting, and I can't say that I blame her. There's a reason I've been calling this the sunflower worm. 😂 And I already know how I want to scale this monstrosity up! Future video.

Piece breakdown:
8 pt star [3 layers]: 1x6 plates (24)
16 pt star [3 layers]: 1x6 plates (48)
23 pt star [4 layers]: 1x6 plates (92)
32 coil helix: 1x6 plates (2944)
