It's fun and easy to decorate cupcakes for a kid's party with these ideas from Better Homes and Gardens. To cut a soft candy for decorating, coat the blades of the scissors or knife with nonstick spray to prevent the candy from sticking. For simple flowers, cut mini, pastel marshmallows into slices for petals with little candies for the center. Create a sun by surrounding a slice of a yellow gumdrop with candy corn. Then pipe a happy face on the gumdrop with frosting. Use thin strips of green fruit leather to make curly Q designs on top of a frosted cupcake, and then accent with small candies.
