I'm sharing with you how to make a Mini Ginger Bread House. This super simple and easy Christmas DIY idea is perfect to do to give as a gift, hang on your tree, place around your home as Christmas Decorations or just eat! It's a lot easier than making a traditional Gingerbread House and so much cuter!

I used these as a guide and made my own.


Recipe

Gingerbread

250 grams butter
200 grams brown sugar
7 tablespoons golden syrup
600 grams flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 teaspoons ground ginger

Icing

3 egg whites
30 ml lemon juice
450 grams icing sugar

Method

Combine butter, brown sugar and golden syrup in a pot. Stir over low-medium heat until the butter has melted and everything is evenly combined.

In a separate bowl add the flour, baking soda and ground ginger. Whisk together and pour in the butter mixture. Stir to form a dough.

Roll out to 5-10mm thickness and cut out the house shapes. Remove excess dough and bake for 10 minutes in a 180 degree Celsius oven. Leave to cool.

Add egg whites, lemon juice and icing sugar to a bowl. Use a hand mixer and mix until stiff peaks form.

Pipe the icing along the the house shapes to 'glue' them together. Leave to set for an hour or so. Decorate.
