The Opel Corsa is democratising electric mobility. With the all-new, sixth-generation Corsa, Opel is offering for the first time a battery-electric version with a range of up to 337 kilometres (WLTP)2. The Corsa-e is orderable for €29,900 (RRP incl. VAT in Germany). Where applicable, incentives lower the price.

The Corsa-e Selection already offers automatic climate control with remote control, electric parking brake and keyless start, the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible Multimedia radio with 7-inch colour touchscreen and a digital cockpit. Systems such as forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, active lane assist, traffic sign recognition and cruise control are on-board at no extra cost. The Edition is the next higher equipped variant. The Corsa-e First Edition fulfils nearly every wish. Standard equipment here includes LED headlights, 17-inch light alloy wheels and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. The new-generation Corsa additionally offers segment-leading safety systems.

The new Corsa-e offers state-of-the-art electric mobility. With a range of up to 337 km according to WLTP2, the five-seat Corsa-e is suitable for every-day use. The 50 kWh battery can be fast-charged to up to 80 per cent state-of-charge in 30 minutes. The Corsa-e is ready for all charging options – via wall box, high-speed charging or cable for household sockets – and an eight-year/160,000km warranty covers the battery.

The driver can choose from three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport. Sport increases driving dynamics, with a moderate effect on driving range. In Eco mode, the Corsa-e supports the driver to achieve greater efficiency.

The Corsa-e’s propulsion system combines emission-free driving with a maximum “fun-to-drive” factor. Thanks to the 100kW (136hp) power output and a 260 Nm of instantaneous maximum torque, the highlights include responsiveness, agility and dynamic performance. The Corsa-e needs only 2.8 seconds to sprint from zero to 50 km/h, or only 8.1 seconds from zero to 100 km/h – a match for sports cars. The maximum speed of 150km/h is electronically controlled.

The Corsa-e delivers a dynamic drive thanks not only to its permanent-magnet synchronous motor but also to its sporty design, while retaining the compact exterior dimensions of previous generations. With a length of 4.06 metres, the Corsa remains an agile, practical and well-arranged five-seater. Aerodynamically optimized wheels further enhance looks as well as efficiency. The roofline is coupé-like and 48mm lower than that of the previous generation, without detriment to headroom. The driver sits 28mm lower. Handling and driving dynamics benefit from the lower centre of gravity. The handling of every new Corsa variant is responsive and dynamic, for maximum fun behind the steering wheel. Customers can further upgrade the interior with leather seats.

The Corsa-e uses a heat pump to warm and cool the interior. A heat pump is more efficient than a conventional HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning) system, requiring less energy from the battery, to the benefit of driving range.

Technologies and assistance systems more often found in higher market segments make their debut in the Corsa-e. The top features include the adaptive, glare-free IntelliLux LED® matrix light that Opel offers for the first time in the small car segment. The eight LED elements, controlled by a high-resolution front camera of the newest-generation, continuously adapt the light beam to the prevailing traffic situation and the surroundings. The Corsa-e is also optionally available with especially efficient LED lights that save more than 80 per cent of energy compared with halogen, without compromising light output; on the contrary, thanks to a special reflector technology, the LED headlights also turn night into day.

Advanced driver assistance systems provide tangible additional safety. Thanks to the high-tech front camera, traffic sign recognition detects a wide range of information, such as LED signs. The speed limits saved in the system appear on the display.
