2021 Ducati Multistrada model specs and prices

Ducati have officially pulled the covers off the 2021 Multistrada V4 (again) but this time we’ve got the full details on the new bike. The latest V4 model from Bologna has been teased, trickled, leaked and spied in the media for a couple of years, but now it’s finally here in full.

Because of the long build-up, we already knew that the bike’s Granturismo V4 engine produces 168bhp at 10,500rpm and 92ft-lb of torque at 8750rpm. While this isn’t to be sniffed at, it’s a lot less power than the versions in the Panigale V4s and Streetfighter make.

This is because the new motor has done away with Desmodromic valves in order to hit a 37,000-mile valve service interval. The Granturismo has also grown from the 1103cc unit used in those bikes to 1158cc with a 2mm increase in bore size to 83mm. Stroke is unchanged at 53.5mm.

That new engine also acts as a stressed member in an aluminium frame that does away with the old steel trellis unit. Gone too is the single-sided swingarm from the V-twin model, replaced by a redesigned double-sided alternative.

The Multistrada V4 became the first model to go into production with radar guided cruise control technology (as a £1950 option) in October, narrowly beating BMW to the claim with the 2021 R1250RT. Unlike the BMW, the Multi’ will also use a rear-facing radar unit to warn the rider of fast approaching traffic and act as a blind spot detector.

You also get lean sensitive ABS, traction control and riding modes, all controlled through a new colour TFT dash (5-inch on the standard bike and 6.5-inch on the S) with full Ducati app connectivity.

With a lighter and more compact engine and that new aluminium chassis, the Multistrada V4 weighs in at 215kg (dry) which is just 3kg heavier than the 1260 in S trim.

Stopping power comes courtesy of twin Brembo radial calipers biting onto 330mm discs and a single rear, while the electronic Skyhook suspension automatically adjusts as you ride and auto levels to adapt to bike loading. The bike has 170mm of travel at the front and 180mm at the rear, a ground clearance of 220mm.

The Multistrada V4 is available in standard trim (which has mechanically adjustable Marzocchi suspension and M4.32 Brembos and costs £15,495), S (with Skyhook suspension and Stylema brakes costing £18,395) or S Sport for £19,995 with all the stuff the S has plus a dedicated colour scheme, Akrapovic exhaust and carbon mudguard.

The S and S Sport versions also include a cornering headlight system and their larger TFT dash doubles as a navigation screen when used in conjunction with the Ducati app. Although the radar-guided cruise control is optional on all models, the S and S Sport get traditional cruise control as standard, plus up an and down quickshifter and hill hold.

The base model comes in red only with cast wheels, you can get the S in grey or red with cast or spoked wheels and the Sport comes in a dedicated black, white, red and grey livery with your choice of wheels. The bike is available to order now.
