Aspirin to Acetaminophen - Part 4 of 6: Mono-nitration of Phenol
Also, acetaminophen = Paracetamol = Tylenol = APAP
We are back again for the fourth installment! We will be doing the mono nitration of phenol, to get a mixture of p-nitrophenol and o-nitrophenol.
The o-nitrophenol is separated off by steam distillation and the p-nitrophenol that is left over is cleaned by recrystallization.
This video turned out to be very long and it took me like 25 hours to edit it...so you should definitely watch all of it.
