Avers in Switzerland - the highest village in Europe (travel documentary in HD)
Solitude, snow and ice cause living close to the nature. Those who live here have to like the winter.
The winter in Avers lasts 7 month. In Juf, the highest situated permanently inhabited village in Europe, at 2126 meters, it is often bitterly cold. Apart from agriculture, tourism is the main industry in the valley. Many tourists come to Avers to make tours with snowboards and snowshoes or classically with Skies. There are some famous routes, such as the Forcellina, the Septimer or the Fiz Turba. But it's not just the magnificent snow slopes, which attract skiers from Avers, it is rather the icefalls. You can do ice climbing in Avers from November to April. The obverse is no longer a secret, but is considered actual icefall-climbing paradise.
