Today I'm taking the train to travel to the outskirts of Moscow, where Russia's richest village is located! Its name is Rublyovka, and although it doesn't refer to any official administrative unit, it became quite popular in Russian society. The name refers to the area surrounding the Rublyovskoe Highway, and it is now used to refer to the area where the richest oligarchs and businesspeople of Russia live. Rublyovka quite conveniently reminds of the Russian currency (the ruble!).

Abramovich? Medvedev? Putin? They all live in this area. It is quite large, sparring 35 km of highway, and all you'll see wandering around the area are tall fences and thick walls with cameras all over the place. I went there myself in order to show you, so you won't need to go yourself 😉

Real estate prices in the area are amongst the highest in the world, comparable to those of central Manhattan! In 2014, the price per square meter was starting at $3,400. The Russian Prime Minister Mishustin, who recently moved to Rublyovka, bought a property for around $10,000,000.
