With Original BMW Accessories, you can adapt your BMW to your personal wishes: The products are perfectly matched to the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer in terms of quality, design and performance.
The sporty, confident design of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer conveys a striking and self-confident appearance with the large, octagonal double kidney grille. Flush integrated door handles underline the clear design. At the same time, the silhouette is given a dynamic contour by the stretched side window graphics, the flat A-pillar and the precise lines.
BMW EfficientLightweight is a prime example of how efficient and dynamic driving can be perfectly combined. Because thanks to the use of particularly light and stiff materials such as carbon in the passenger compartment, aluminum in the chassis, high-strength steels in the bodywork or the latest magnesium alloys in the engine, fuel consumption is reduced while driving performance and driving dynamics are improved at the same time.
With the first passenger cells made of carbon from series production, BMW i revolutionized automobile construction and set new standards in lightweight construction. Thanks to its high strength, it offers passengers the best possible protection in the event of an accident, but is still light enough to compensate for the additional weight of the HV battery. The result: more safety and a generous and comfortable feeling of space while at the same time saving weight - and thus even more dynamics.
The use of the high-tech material carbon for the mass production of a vehicle such as the BMW i3 and BMW i8 is unique to date. For a long time, the use was only possible to a limited extent because this material was made by hand. Today, the BMW Group produces the carbon fibers and carbon fiber plates itself, which enables large-scale production in the automotive industry.
Good ideas don't always have to be complicated: through targeted aerodynamic measures such as the air flap control and the Air Curtain in the front apron, the Air Performance wheels or the Air Breathers behind the front wheel arches, your BMW achieves an optimized drag coefficient. In addition, there is an aerodynamically optimized underbody and the streamlined vehicle proportions defined by the AERO GENE. This has a positive effect on efficiency and driving stability and reduces the noise level in the interior.
A mild hybrid is a special variant of the hybrid drive. The vehicle does not use its electric motor as an independent drive, but switches it on to the combustion engine depending on the situation. This reduces consumption and increases the range. At the same time, the electric drive can reinforce the combustion engine as a so-called boost. With mild hybrids, the battery is only recharged by recuperation while driving when braking.
BMW vehicles with hybrid drives – also known as plug-in hybrids – have two engines: a combustion engine and an electric motor. In conjunction with the latest lithium-ion high-performance batteries, this not only leads to an increased range, but also to more power and dynamics. The battery can be recharged via normal sockets and charging stations as well as via braking energy regeneration. In so-called recuperation, the vehicle's kinetic energy is converted back into electrical energy by the electric motor during the braking process and fed into the battery.
