Athens is a wonderful city, steeped in history, vibrant with culture, and home to a diverse and, it appeared to us, young population.

It is often referred to as the cradle of Western Civilisation and is one of the world's oldest cities, with a recorded history spanning over 3,400 years.

Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum were located in Classical Athens, which was a center for the arts, learning, and philosophy.
