The Peak @ Toa Payoh is a Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) located close to the heart of Toa Payoh Town Centre. It's pretty well known for its sky-high blocks, with 2 blocks of 42-storeys and 3 blocks of 40-storey offering a total of 1,203 units. You do get a mix of 3-room, 4-room, and 5-room unit types and as with the DBSS tag, the units are a little more special than regular HDB units. For one, you do have to use a proximity card to get access to the units at the ground floor level, so there is better peace of mind in terms of security.

The 3-room units will unfortunately only come with a planter in the living area, but the 4-room units and above will enjoy a proper balcony - and it is definitely more attractive given the views that you can get on the higher floors. The bigger 5-room units will come with a balcony in the master bedroom as well, which is certainly a welcome treat for that extra bit of uniqueness to the units here. The 5-room flats also make up 67% of all available units here. As such, many buyers looking for a large space in a central area have set their eyes on this project. Naturally, this has also attracted higher prices, with multiple million-dollar HDB transactions occurring here over the past few months alone.

It's a short walk to the Toa Payoh Hub, and from there, the Toa Payoh MRT station will get you to most areas of Singapore pretty quickly given the central location. Toa Payoh town centre also comes with some shopping, lots of eateries and supermarkets as well for residents. It's obviously nowhere near the offerings you get in town - but you are after all just a short train ride away.

Correction: Prices have gone from $638,888 - $1.24m based on Feb - Nov 2021 data and not $580K - $1.3m. There are also only 5 blocks, not 7.
