Visconde de Pirajá street is the main street in the Ipanema neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro. It cuts across the neighborhood and connects with the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Leblon.

There is the main commercial route of Ipanema, it has stores of the main fashion brands, both for clothes, furniture, jewelers, supermarkets, etc.

On the day of this night walk, there was an event at Ipanema Beach, at Rua Farme de Amoedo.
So, at the intersection of Rua Farme de Amoedo, you can see a greater movement of people.
This street is very frequented by the gay public and has become a meeting point for homosexual supporters.
The large number of people that this event had generated controversy, since the city and the country were going through the second wave of coronavirus contamination. Measures such as keeping the distance, avoiding crowds and mandatory use of a mask were ignored, which is the reason for the controversy at the event.
