In this video I will show the awesome restorations
of an old rusty tools. It was found in the garden while dig the ground. This instrument has been lying in the ground for about 40-50 years. Rust covered him very hard. There were places where she completely eaten through the metal and this made it difficult to restore. using a screwdriver, I removed the top layer of rust and cleaned it . During this, I found in the middle of an ant which, in my opinion, lived there, and of course I carefully carried her out into the street where he would find a new home.
First, I separated the cutting part from the base and began to clean it from rust using ID 40 and sandpaper. Not everything was so simple, because over the years, rust has been carried deep into the metal. So I decided to use a belt sander, things went faster. I dip the base in a rust remover and leave it for 24 hours. Indeed, this solution works very well. After that, I cleaned the base using a nozzle on a drill and thus prepared it for painting. First I primed and the next coat was black paint.
I used beech and silk thread to make the handle. The thread was wound around the handle for a comfortable grip on the instrument. I hope you will like it. Thanks for watching.
