Honey Chilli Potato is a popular Chinese starter. Honey Chilli Potato has a crispy texture and honey adds a bit of sweetness which elevates the taste. Honey Glazed Potato is served as a starter and also best to eat along with Fried Rice or Noddles.

Honey Chilli Potato Recipe:
Potato - 4 nos
Water - 1 Litre
Batter:
Maida - 2 tbsp + 3 tbsp
Corn Flour - 3 tbsp
Salt - ¼ tsp
Pepper - ¼ tsp
Red Chilli Powder - ¼ tsp
Water - As Needed
Sauce
Oil - 1 tbsp
Garlic (finely chopped) - 5 cloves
Red Chilli Flakes - 1 tsp
Sesame Seeds - 1 tbsp + 1 tsp
Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
Vinegar - 1 tsp
Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Salt - To Taste
Honey - 2 tbsp
Water - ¼ Cup
Corn Flour - 1 tsp
Oil - To Deep Fry
Spring Onion - 2 tbsp
Instructions:
1. Peel the skin of the potatoes and chop the potatoes into even-sized fingers (like french fries).
2. Bring 1 litre of water to a boil and cook the potato strips in the water for 3 mins.
3. Drain the water completely and add 2 tbsp of flour and mix with the drained potatoes.
4. In another bowl, add 3 tbsp of cornflour, 3 tbsp of maida, salt, pepper, red chilli powder, water as necessary to form a thick batter.
5. Add the potatoes fingers to the batter and coat well.
6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and deep fry the potatoes on medium-high heat until it is crispy. Drain and keep aside.
7. In a pan, heat oil, add chopped garlic, chilli flakes, sesame seeds.
8. Add tomato ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, red chilli powder, salt, honey and stir.
9. Mix 1 tsp of cornflour with ¼ cup of water to form a slurry.
10. Add the cornflour mixture to the pan and mix.
11. Once the sauce thickens, add the fried potatoes.
12. Stir fry for 2 mins.
13. Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
14. Remove from the heat and serve hot.
