Merel Bekking reveals
Dutch designer Merel Bekking has surprised Dezeen founder Marcus Fairs with a shiny plastic chair after scanning his brain to establish his subconscious style preferences.
Through her Your Brain Manufacturing project, Bekking aimed to create an item of furniture for Dezeen's editor-in-chief that she believed to be "scientifically perfect".
However, Fairs, who had to live with the Kinder Egg-shaped seat in his London home for four months, was unimpressed. He claims he "took a violent dislike to it".
