The fifth-gen Espace was gifted with a facelift, one meant to allow the fitting of new or newer technologies into the car. The changes are slight and they appear to be larger in the cabin than in the exterior design. The offer under the hood has one diesel engine but in two output variants and one gasoline engine.

Design Change
The redesign is not so pronounced, rather it could be called mild. The biggest novelty certainly is LED Matrix adaptive headlights. To be honest, I don’t remember one Renault vehicle having this one in the main range. More changes are seen in the wheels, front and rear bumper, and restyled stop lights in LED technology.

The latest driver-assistance systems:
Adaptive Speed Control
Lane Centering Assistance
Advanced Park Assist
Rear Cross Traffic Alert System
Active Emergency Braking System
Lane Departure Warning
Blind Spot Warning

Interior
There’s a change in the cabin and you’ll love it. Easy Connect as latest generation of multimedia system with 9.3 inches screen include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto function. The front of the drivers is now set digital instrument panel of 10.3 inches and 3D navigation.

All variants will have a large glass roof as standard equipment. The choice is between 5 and 7 seat versions. Center console now includes pair of USB ports and 2 cup bottle holders. The installation of side laminated windows should improve the sound insulation of the cabin.

For those with a deeper pocket who choose to buy Initiale Paris version as most luxury receive several benefits. Some of them are Black Titanium and Light Sand-Grey Nappa leather, seat heating and cooling, adjustable in 10 directions and massage function.

Engines
It is an interesting decision to have a choice between 2 diesel engines and one gasoline under the hood. Petrol line represent only turbo direct-injection 1.8 L engine with 4 cylinder paired only with dual clutch seven speed automatic transmission. Output is 225 horses.

Diesel line offer 2.0 L Blue dCi engine with two different output. First have 160 horses and 360 N/m torque at 1,500 rpm. Second have 200 horses and 400 N/m torque at 1,750 rpm. Both version paired with dual clutch six speed automatic transmission. They have been specifically worked on to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

You can buy all-wheel drive in combination with an adaptive suspension system and 3 driving modes: Eco, Comfort and Sport.
