Today I will be comparing the make-a-face Mater with it's counterpart make-a-face Lightning McQueen. There seems to be some quality contrast between the two which is surprising considering these two toys are from the exact same series of Cars toys. While both toys are certainly a great deal of fun, i was concerned enough to post a comparison video showing my findings. How do these two toys stack up in your opinion?

In Cars 2 Lightning McQueen is racing in the first ever World Grand Prix to determine who's the world's fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours, and hilarious surprises.

Number 95 Lightning McQueen is still a hotshot racecar, but his rookie days are past him. Now a permanent resident of Radiator Springs, Lightning has become a bona fide worldwide celebrity as winner of four Piston Cups. After his latest win, Lightning McQueen returns home to enjoy life in the slow lane for a while with sweetheart Sally, best friend Mater and the rest of his Radiator Springs family. His off-season is unexpectedly cut short when Mater inadvertently prompts Lightning McQueen to enter the World Grand Prix, a high profile, three-part exhibition race that will take him around the globe.

With a fresh custom paint job and real, working headlights, Lightning McQueen sets off to Japan, Italy and England with Mater in tow for the adventure of a lifetime. But competing against the fastest cars in the world tests more than his racing skills when Lightning realizes his wide-eyed best friend may not be the pit chief nor ambassador he needs to navigate the unfamiliar international terrain.

Sir Tow Mater, better know as simply Mater, is the deuteragonist in Cars and the main protagonist in Cars 2. He also appears in his very own short series Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales as the main character.

His best friend is Lightning McQueen. Mater also likes to go Tractor Tippin' at night, his favorite hobby.

In Cars 2, since Mater plays a role in a spy affair, he is added several gadgets, however not as spectacular as those of Finn McMissile or Holley Shiftwell. Since Mater is not familiar with his gadgets, they are activated by voice commands.

- Deployable machine guns: One on each side. Deployed when Mater uses his catchphrase "Dad-gum."
- Twin rockets: Give Mater a powerful boost, and can serve to direct himself when gliding.
- Deployable paraglider: Of an orange color, it permits Mater to glide in the air. When used with his rockets, this gadget permits Mater to direct himself more precisely.
- Deployable holographic disguise emitter: Disguised as the flashing light on the roof. The device instantaneously makes a disguise all around Mater, and may even simulate supplementary volume or hide some.

At the end of Cars 2, it appears Mater was removed of all his gadgets. However, he obtained the favor to keep his twin rockets.

With the possibility of a Cars 3 Movie being released in the future, times are exciting for Cars Fans. If a Cars 3 is released in cinemas I have no doubt that it will be an exceptional film, just as exceptional as the Disney Pixar Cars 2 film release. It will be exciting to see what new characters we may come across in the next addition of the series, Cars 3. No doubt that Cars3 will likely keep its protagonist Lightning McQueen on board with Finn McMissile and our beloved Mater, as well as several other cars 2 characters such as Francesco Bernoulli, Mack and Holley Shiftwell!
