Cannon Restoration - Antique Toy Restored and Back in Action!

In this video, I’m showcasing the restoration of an antique toy cannon that had clearly seen better days. The cannon was in poor condition, with faded wood and rusty metal parts that desperately needed attention. The first step was to completely disassemble the cannon to carefully restore every single piece.

The wooden parts were thoroughly sanded to remove the old paint and create a smooth surface. Then, I refinished them with green wood stain to bring back the classic look of the cannon. The metal parts, which were heavily rusted, were sanded and polished to a high shine using a polishing wheel, making them look as good as new.

Since the original projectiles were not authentic and in poor condition, I crafted entirely new ones from beechwood and stained them gray. For the reassembly, I used new brass nails and screws that perfectly complemented the restored cannon.

Finally, I couldn’t resist giving the antique toy cannon a proper test – and what better test than simply playing with it? Watch the transformation of this unique cannon step by step and see how this neglected piece became a true showpiece!
